Wash mitts, and your Black stang

You can't use a fluffy cat, their nails leave swirl marks.
I bought extra large 100% cotton towels, cut off the edges as per Zaino instructions, and followed Zaino wash, double rinse and dry recommendations. I have towels for washing, others for drying(after car is blown dry) and towels for polish removal. I keep them in jumbo sized Hefty brand plastic zip bags to keep them dust free between use.(I cut the "bath sheet" sized towels into smaller sizes)

Moved to the car care section.......
I use a wash mitt on all my cars including my wifes 06 Pontiac G6 which is black. Just make sure you rinse the vehicle very good. I also use 3 buckets and 3 wash mitts. One for the top half of the car, one for the lower half and the 3rd for rims and tires.

I used to use three sheepskin mitts but now a grout sponge to wash my three black vehicles. This type of sponge is noticably softer than a lot of car wash sponges with the pores being of a decent size. It holds a ton of soap and water and literally glides over the paint. Most importantly, it also rinses clean very easily. I've found that sheepskin mitts seem to loose their water and soap pretty fast. Used w/ two buckets and grit guards this is the best way for me to get a swirl free wash.

I have the same lint problem. I also dislike always needing to trim the towels after each wash. I keep thinking I'll try microfiber towels, but I'm afraid they might leave swirl marks. I love microfiber for the glass and the interior aluminum trim, but worry about the paint.

I use a microfiber mitt now and have used sheepskin for a long time before this. I will be trying the grout sponge next. You can pick them up at Lowes for $1.87 ,so they are really worth a try.
Why would you use anything other than microfibers for the paint?
These are the plushest I have used to date....

For anyone who may want to try the grout sponge, go to your local Lowes and ask for the Proline sponge, not to be confused with the TileSolutions sponge that you find with the tiles. The Proline sponge is found with the cleaning supplies (mops, brooms, cleaning solutions, etc) :

Then again, my car is a lease, so it's not such a big deal with the wheels either.
