Yes, Mine as well will get long term storage this winter. I am working several projects out of town this winter, so I won't be home. So she will set in my shop/garage all covered up..........

What do you mean turn your plates in?

In New York you have to turn the plates back into the DVM when you take the car off the road for the winter. (insurance goes way down)

Hmmm, I'll have to check into that and see if Ky is the same..... If I could save some money on my insurance that could help me pay for some of my future mods.........

Mine will be hibernating all winter. In fact, I was at the bar last night and my girl showed up and told me they were salting the roads because of snow. I immediately went home (2 blocks away) and put the car in the garage.
Anyway, here in Michigan we don't turn plates in or anything, I just call my insurance company and say I'm not driving the car anymore, so cancel the insurance.
However, because of the multi-car discount, it is actually cheaper for me to have coverage on my truck, and the put the car in "storage" insurance. Storage insurance is very cheap and covers me in case something falls on my car or whatever else may happen while it is sitting in the garage over the winter.

Mine is now in the garage for the winter, unless they don't salt the roads this week.
If your car has a loan, is it possible to downgrade your insurance in Michigan ? I didn't think it was. This could be some useful information.

Mine goes away this weekend and will not come out until Spring. It kind of stinks b/c on nice days it is tempting to take her out but once there is salt on the road it is better to just leave her in the garage. I ended up with 8400 miles on her this year.

With 7400 miles on her since last January, she is stored in the back of my double deep garage. Taken out occassionally on nice days. Once the snow gets here....she will hibernate for a while.
