What should I use to treat the rubber seals around the upper door openings, especially on the B-pillars where the glass rubs up and down every time you open and close the door? Mine appear to be drying out already from being in the sun.

I've been using Meguiares NFX Protectant (sp) the one for exterior trim. Just apply, let sit for a few minutes and I wipe off the excess, looks great. I use the Mequiares #40 for all my interior. Great products.

B) 303 or ... believe it or not, Pledge wipes

Silicone sprayed onto a clean cloth then wiped on regularly will keep them soft and supple. My 89 GT looked as good as new after 7 years :nice:

When I lived in the prairies I had used Glycerin by from drug store rub on all rubber seals and it sure kept them from drying and cracking up, my test was two gov't work trucks same one had and one did not the one I did won so I used it on all my vehicles since.

WTF I did not type all this above wierd ! This being an old post I see my error and begg for forgiveness.

So when I lived in the prairies in the harsh cold climates and every winter took our work trucks up North when they tested the Cruise Missels I used Glyserine on all of our rubber stripping and it kept them from hardening and listening to the wind whistle through also from cracking when one were to open the door. so I figure with the 05 Mustang it will work well as the window automatically drops when you open the door.
Before I get in to a vehicle in the cold I always have a squirt bottle of gasline anti freeze or mythonale hydrate to sray into key holes and windows Really save from scapeing !

Silicone spray works great. The makers of WD40 have one on the market. Just make sure you are wearing gloves when working with silicone sprays. Definately not a good idea to get the stuff on your skin.

I used to use Glyserine in the harsh prairie climates on all rubber weather stripping and it worked really well to keep it from cracking up & stuff. I cannot remember where I learnt that but try it on an inconspicous area and see. it can be found in little glass bottles at a Pharmacy outlet.

Excellent. 1) I just noticed this problem last night and 2) I have a bottle of 303 in the garage (I had a boat).
