i have this problem thats about to have me mentally break down

my windows

theres the thing my windows .. front and back windshields and side windows have spots on them .. they look like water spots as if it had rained ... except they WONT COME OFF! ARGH ive tried magic eraser, alcahol, invisible glass window cleaner. nothing works .. ive washed this car by hand a minimum of 1 time every week sometimes more

oh yea AND every time i wet the windshield i can SEE THE LINE WHERE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPS AT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM PERFECTLY its making me more mental than normal

anyone else had this happen?? any ideas?? im about to jump lol

Try Lime away, but be careful

Try claying the windows. I had a similar problem a while back and this worked for me.

Clay bar will be safer than Lime away, go there first. If those spots are hard water, the Lime away will take it off.

ilt ry both of those ideas.. claying it first..just a normal clay bar?

.. im guessing by the way you said be careful with the lime away its not to good for paint .. especially since i got legen lime =p

any other ideas?

You could also try one of those nylon scub pads. You know the no scratch type. But that will be a lot of elbow grease.

Yeah just a normal clay bar. I used "Mothers Clay Bar" but any kind should do the trick ...

I had a similar problem with mine, and I think it had to do with me waxing over the spots. I washed mine a few months back and used the Mr. Clean Autodry thing. Evidently it didn't "dry to a spotless shine" like it was suppose to, and by the time I got done waiting for it to dry, it was getting dark. Anyway, I waxed it anyway, even though I could not see very well. I guess I waxed over a bunch of water spots, and could not get them to come off for 3 weeks. I finally used Joy dish soap to strip the wax off, and the spots came off like magic! Maybe something to try.

Also on the topic of your windshield, if you used any wax or Rain-X on it, that will make it do that as well. The wipers scrape the wax or Rain-X and deposit it in that line, and it is a bear to get off!!

If nothing else works you can try using a *very* mild abrasive to remove the spots, like toothpaste, perhaps even something like a mild polishing compound. I used to use a mild abrasive cleaner on my airplane's windshield (made of plexi-glass) and it worked wonders to remove water spots, bugs, oil, etc. then you just wiped it off and buffed it by hand till clear. Just don't go using rubbing compound as that stuff would probably be way too abrasive.

I had the same thing happen when I parked to close to a sprinkler system and the hot sun baked the water onto the car windows.

I saw on this forum a suggestion to use diluted vinegar.

It worked great in removing the hard water spots.

Be sure to rinse off real good and wipe clean after.

white diluted vineager will take off those annoying water marks. it works great, I just follow up with a slightly damp towel and quickly dry it with a dry towel, no more water marks.

should the vinegar get rid of that wiper blade line?

i did use Rain-X at one time but never worked like advertised

will the vinegar remove that mark as well?

Duragloss brand used to have a glass polish that took the spots off my old '70 Mach 1 windshield. I was amazed at how good it worked. Check with your local NAPA store.

I'm a firm believer in Rain-X. In fact if I'm driving someone esle's car in the rain (or even just riding in it) I don't feel safe without it.

I have driven through driving rain and not needed my windshield wipers at all.

What were you expecting that it didn't do? How did you apply it?
