I've had my 06 GT since 3/11. I was in a fender bender and had to have some body and paint work done within two weeks, so I haven't been able to wax her yet (paint shop says 90 days). So I'm still dealing with the factory coat only right now.

So, should I worry about water spots after it rains? It rained today, so when I got her in the garage, I dried her off. Am I being too obsessive or neurotic? Do you guys dry after it rains? How about after I wax her, should I still do it?

Never dry your car unless you just thoroughly washed it. All you will be doing is dragging dirt and the such across your paint as you dry otherwise.

I just use it as an excuse to give it a full wash. As Mike said, you're better off not pushing the dirt around.

Okay, I think I'll just cut openings for the windows in a car cover and just keep it on at all times.

Cal. duster is for dusty cars (the kind that sit in the garage) or clean cars that are just driven to a show, dirt free and dry.
It is the dirt that scratches, not the wipe.

If you want to dry your car after it's rained, use a leaf blower.

Still trying to convince the wife we NEED a leaf blower. I suggested we get one and she immediately said, " OMG, you just want that for the car ". I was so busted.

I use a leaf blower ! not always just when pressed for time and why not if you use a touchless or any other car wash they generally have a big blower at the end correct ! and I'll add works especially well if you want to wax right after .

Thats funny. I figured I'd get the same response, so I just didn't tell her till after I bought it. Black and Decker, $69.95 - works great on the car as well as the leaves! http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...118&lpage=none
