Cleaned up my car yesterday...
 

How's it look? It's pretty clean, I didnt get to wax it because I ran out of time. I got a buffer for Christmas, but Im sorta scared to use it, lol. Anybody got any tips?

I wish I had a garage to put my supplies and stuff in instead of on my bookshelf.

looks pretty good. I use the buffer to remove wax once in a while. Keep it moving, don't let it sit in one spot to long.

The Rockford seems to be a polisher. Use only to apply wax/sealant and buy plenty of bonnets as you'll need them. Remove the coating w/ quality microfiber towels.

You aren't going to screw it up with that thing. No way it's strong enough to do any damage. You need to go out and get a nice wax for your car. Don't even think about using that Turtle Wax. :nonono:

Meg's #26 works great and you should be able to find it locally.

Turtle Wax :shame: +1 for Meg's #26 or NXT Tech Wax--as far as using the buffer here's a site with some good info. what is wrong with turtle wax? does it **** up the paint? does it not last long enough? not "deep" enough? not enough reflection? everyone just seems to hate the TurtleWax. Same as ArmorAll. what up wit dat?

IMO not deep enough shine or long lasting compared to Liquid Glass or Meg's but all I've ever used of their is their basic stuff in the green bottle-they may have some better stuff now but I use what works best for me.

Ive used the Turtle Wax for the year or so that I have been washing/waxing my vehicles, it works okay for me, but I do know there are better products out there, Im just like super cheap right now, lol, hate those d@** college loans. The paint on my jeep looks good mostly, the hood and the front part right above the grill has terrible marks on it, and it's obvious (now) that someone didnt spend much time trying to retouch up the paint when they did, I need to wet sand all that smooth...Im ready to apply more than one coat of wax and see what she looks like.

The Rockford seems to be more of a random-orbital wax applicator... it's best used for a one-step product like Carnauba Cleaner Wax or I'd that for FX SynWax.

You don't need to buy a body panel to test with ... just go for it... start on your hood and and just let the machine do the work... though with the body contours on the jeep, you're going to do some by hand.

But first, I'd pick up a bottle or two of Mothers Back-to-Black and hit those lower body panels and your other trim. Apply with a microfiber applicator, and wear nitrile gloves -- prepare to spend a half hour doing the trim and do a follow-up application before letting it do its job and then do a light buff -- it'll look night and day better.

Actually, the lower body panels will be getting painted a darker grey, like it's supposed to look.
