bird poop in a convertible...
this might be a dumb question
my girlfriends convertible she ordered has a ETA of 7/31 and we just started wondering if bird poop would be a problem with cloth interior. does it happen often?? no big deal?

I've had several convertibles and that's never happened, if you're moving it's going to hit the windshield and if you're parked I would suggest putting the top back up anyway. But I've read a lot of complaints that even water can stain the cloth interior, so it would be a good idea to treat the interior as soon as you get the car.

Just had this happen to me a few days ago on a freeway onramp.
Must have been one large bird.
Nailed the windshield, my hat, driver's headrest, backseat (seat & backrest) and the front portion of the folded top.
Dang bird must have been real proud of that bombing run.
Cleaned the mess off the interior (leather & faux leather) easily with Meguires interior detail spray. I don't think cloth would have been nearly as easy to clean.
Exterior got a good washing. (The hat was a total loss)

Even with a cloth interior, it is easily manageable if you get a can of Scotchguard and treat the interior upholstery and carpet. You can get a can of the stuff for less than $20. Dealer will sometimes charge $200 for the same thing.
