Your opinions: Which photo looks best?
 

This is a pic I took a few months back before I blacked out my lights chrome pony emblem. I want to have one of these photos professionally printed for framing.

I played with a basic editing program (not Photo Shop) and eliminated the telephone lines, their shadows on the building, stray car reflections, the pony, and even the oil change and inspection sticker on the windshield. I can't get rid of the front plate.

The first photo is the untouched original so you can see the changes. Your opinions, comments, and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

The changed color one looks best. The b/w & sepia ones don't have enough contrast between your dark car and the surroundings.

If I were going to have a professional print made I would remove the front plate and bracket before taking the photo.

I don't have a front plate on my 2015, just detracts from the beauty of the car. Have it on a Sto-n-Sho under the front seat.

The 2nd photo (the one without the phone lines, etc..) is my favorite although I also dislike the front license plate. The B&W photos would be incredible if you had a 60's Mustang but doesn't look right to me with that beautiful modern car. Nice job done overall. Is that station near you??
I also love the old gas stations. I took this Shell one near Winston Salem awhile back plus along Route 66 a few years ago.

I like the first B&W image, but the original looks good even with the power lines.

Thanks. I was very thrilled with the pic but it was just an accident that it came out so good. Even a blind squirrel gets an acorn once in a while.

That's not really a gas station. The pump is just eye candy. The place is called The Stillwater Garage in Stillwater NJ. It was a station in a former life, but now it's a bonafide working restoration shop. They build customs and hot rods and restore muscle cars. Peeking out the garage you can see the tail end of a work-in-progress '54 Merc lead sled.

#1 and #2 look good, only change I would make is get rid of the plates and plate holder...ruins the lines of the sexy stang...I mean car....

Yeah, it's yet another crappy downside to living in NJ. The dreaded front plate. When I had my Camaro, it came without the front plate holder, so I just never put one on. Got pulled over a lot for not having the front plate, but never ticketed for it. Sadly, the Mustang had it already installed when I bought it, so I just keep it there to avoid the hassle.

I like the colored edit best, with the sepia a close second. All look fantastic. Beautiful car, and a great shot of it.

I prefer the 1st one, raw, real, unedited.

That one seems to be the general consensus. With the basic editing programs I have (Windows Picture manager and Windows Live Photo Gallery) there's only a limited amount of manipulation I can do, and removing the front plate isn't one of them.

Still, I'm pretty happy with the composition.

In NJ driving without a front plate attached results in a ticket with no points on your record since it's not a moving violation but does result in payment of a fine. I never had one on my 1998 Corvette for 15 years before I sold it and was never stopped for a missing plate.

It's possible though that a non-points ticket could still affect one's insurance points in NJ since it shows up on the MVR which your company accesses to at renewal. MVR points and insurance points are two different things here in NJ.

However, I wasn't in that end of the insurance business so I'm not 100% sure about that.

I'd just take off the plate before taking pictures and put it back on once before you drive home. Or just get that hideaway bracket. Although there are a few guys on this site with the hideaway bracket that always forget to lower the plate before taking pictures. Front plates ruin the look of these cars :(
