I love the way my car looks but I want to add some personal touch I would appreciate ideas for colors and schemes preferably not primarily black I was thinking maybe gold with black trim up

You should do a deep metallic purple on top would look awesome

kyle2008 10/8/12 08:05 PM

That would look really good but purple isn't for me haha

Why not a darker shade of transitional gray with and accent stripe/pinstripe in gold or black?

Gray all the way.. Just don't do 50 shades.

Those are just a couple I had on my phone. Typically I like to think the darker goes on top, but check out the foose magnaflow mustang too. It's reversed. I say black. Bc you could probably find a take off black hood and spoiler pretty easily and cheaply. Then it's not as much painting after that. But the dividing line needs to be something neat IMO like orange or burgundy or green. Something eye catching. Or maybe even silver. My .02!

These are all good ideas keep them coming

If not black then just a darker grey. Maybe some colored pinstriping.

Ok so do a dark candy red

Knight 10/9/12 08:10 AM

forget the 2 tone and add stripes.

rmurer 10/9/12 08:29 AM

i like the candy red idea, i would do a fat line well tech it would be most of the hood but i would go from crease to crease in the hood and than do the entire roof. there is a '11 or '12 on here that kinda had the same idea but with white.

That could look good too and maybe a black out line that runs up the side of the hood then up the top door frames

Glad I can help

I have a 2002 mustang gt and I recently power washed my engine and now my car is misfiring and the service eng light is on. I already replaced the spark plugs but its still misfiring . Any idea what ales it could be?

Alternator would be good to check. It sits right at the front of your engine (at least on my 06) and will die pretty easily if it gets wet. I know bc I just had to replace mine. Haha but that doesn't really have much to do with the thread

A more reddish burgundy would look good as the other color. I always like when there's a lightning bolt in the pin striping, whether towards the front or the back.

I went with the Black-over-Blue theme... separated by a 1/4" orange metallic stripe (matches the stitching on my seats). Too many cars have the "same" double-stripe pattern..wanted to have a different look...

Do you think a blue like that maybe a little darker would look good on my color

TheDarkSide 10/11/12 10:40 PM

With your color I would do Deep impact Blue on the top or maybe Lava Red. Something metallic to match the existing color. Now how you split the two tone is up to you. Delz has a nice design style for the body style. I'd also split the colors with a nice accent strip line.

But if you want to go windveil with your body color, maybe something like this?

That's what I was thinking more of a dark blue or red
