Which tires come with a rim protector?
Looking for a tire in 255/45/18 that comes with a rim protector. Just looking for some different options. I want to make sure the tire I get has a rim protector, so if you guys know any that do, feel free to list them. I tried searching for a list of them online, but didn't really have much luck.

I'm very cognizant of that feature on a tire as well but sometimes you don't get much of a choice. I just bought a set of tires for my T/A and there was nothing decent. I ended up with the BFG G-Force SS/AS which has a slight protector but not much.
Fortunately my Mustang has a superb rim protector with the Goodyear Eagle GT 235/50ZR18 high performance A/S tire. I know that isn't the size you mentioned but maybe it is available for you too since they are both 18". The protector is incredibly 'out there' and much better than the BFG. This particular Goodyear has been an outstanding overall tire for my Mustang. You'll need to check if that type Eagle GT I mentioned comes in your size. If it doesn't at least the BFG has something going for it and would probably be fine. It's better than nothing. I'm certainly hoping so. Good luck!

But yeah, the rim protector on the Eagle GT is great. Plus it makes the tire look wider than it really is.

Is it true that run flat tires have rim protectors? I heard that from a Ford salesman and all I could do is raise my eyebrows cause I don't know if it is true or not.
If so, look for run flat tires

BFGs and Goodyear. He rim protectors have been lifesavers over my 14 year Mustang journey.
BFGs on my 00.
GY on my 11.

It's funny that you mention that because my Bullitt actually has the same exact tires on it and I love them. I would instantly buy them if they were available in a 255/45/18, but Goodyear is discontinuing the Eagle GT tire. But yeah, the rim protector on the Eagle GT is great. What do you think of them? I've heard some bad things about them and they are super cheap. I do like the tread pattern though.

One of the reasons that I bought the BFG G-Force Super Sport tire was because of the rim protection built into the tire...
I had a set of Yokohama AVS Sport tires before these and these ride so much better and are considerably quieter.
