Should i???

Hi everyone,
I have a 2005 gt with 10500 miles on it that I just bought last September. I've been debating on modifying it or keeping it stock. I made the decision to do bolt ons, nothing too crazy. I now have the the opportunity to buy a 2008 roush stage 3 427r off of someone for around 25k. It has 20k miles and is an automatic with the racing shifter. Its a daily driver used by a lady that I work with. But her husband is a mechanic and I know has used this car to its capabilities so to speak. Is it worth it for me to buy this car or keep my 05 and modify it with a vortech and suspension or take a chance with this roush and have it have a malfunction.
Thanks

John

For a lil over 25k you can buy a 2013 base gt and have 420 hp off the floor, think the 427r roush has 435. Id go buy a new 5.0 buts thats just me, hopr this helps, good luck!!

I would buy the 427R

Sell your car now since it is probably close to stock and get the most out of it instead of modding it and not being able to sell it. Plus the amount of money you are going to spend just to get it close to the 427R is going to be around 10k with a S/C, suspension, supporting mods.

Besides IIRC 25k for a 427R is a steal! I think they usually sell for around 40 last I checked.

I'm still debating. Is there any Chance that the car will have collector status? I know it's not a Shelby, but could it be worth something in 20 years.

That's possible. As long as it's in tip top condition (which is unlikely if you drive it daily) or restored.

Sounds like your also concerned about how hubby has possibly abused it.

I'd go '13 GT too.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Probably going to pass on the roush. A new 5.0 is a little out of my range. Maybe someday I'll have 2 gt's.

How is the 5.0 outta you range? Just wondering the roush you said was 25k and you can get a 11 or 12 now for that price

Where I live in ny, the sticker on a base model 13 is 29-30k. There not knocking off too much off of that. I would get the roush to replace my 05 gt which is my fun car, not my daily driver. I guess I didn't make it clear that I was looking for something different than a base gt. I know the bhp is the almost same as the roush. I was thinking in terms of a long term investment. In a perfect world, I'd sell my 06 civic, make my 05 gt my daily and by a 13 gt with the trak pak or better yet a boss. Thanks for your feedback.

X-Plan + Incentives for a 12 GT will be in your range. It's just hard to find the color/options you want nowadays for a 12.
