I'd get those GT-500 mud flaps, too, if they fit on our bumpers.

I'm surprised nobody has made a set just like them to fit our cars...

For mud flaps, you can just get some universal plastic ones (the real cheap simple thin plastic ones), cut them out to fit/look the way you want and in the shape of the inner wheel well, then just use a binder clip to clip it to the inner wheel well.

Very cheap and easy to take on and off

I've been thinking about something like this, since I'm going 100% Mach 1 theme now with the new rims (which were ordered today):

Here's a '70 Mach 1 with the honeycomb panel, the chrome taillight bezels, black wing, and a similar stripe:

I think it would look better on a white car than on that green car above.

Plus, my Turbocharged emblem that I'm putting back there would stand out nice on the black...

It beats the masking tape I was using before.

I think I'll go with the seran wrap looking stuff. I'll get more protection than th mudflaps will give. Mudflaps are gay unless you have a truck.

That stripe would look better on a ducktail and it would make it look more like the Mach1 in the pic above.

It would look better just straight across, without turning down, and +1 to leo's comment below

Well, there will be no ducktail. My black wing is close enough.

I agree it would look better straight across, but that's all I can find.

How about this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-...ayphotohosting

I could probably make that fit. I asked the guy for dimensions.

Maybe that's why JBA lowered their prices!

Price seems to be higher with Edelbrock so I may still go for the JBA's.

Aslo, the grade of SS looks to be the same as the JBA, so no advantage there.

BTW-Wheel deal went through. The guys shipping them out today or tomorrow. So I should have them by the end of the week or early next week.
True that, and I want a pair of those for the crazy Canadian roads. Yummy salt, gravel, muddy rain waters...and then comes the winter months

Tom- I'd be curious to see the stripe on your car. Don't like what I've seen so far.

Yeah they're still gay. They're just little gay as opposed to big gay.

That may just work. I'd have to see pics of it on a S197 before deciding.

Anyone looking for that "turbo sound" with the cost of a turbocharger? Make sure to read the bullets.

I have some catching up to do but IMO mud flaps are not teh ghey for the purpose you are using them for. Leave 'em on all the time and yeah I'd tend to agree. Since you now have to remove the tires you're right there anyway put the flaps on before the slicks and take 'em off for the regular tires... or put tape on everything....

Someone said that PAM works good too ?? Haven't tried that though ??

George Didn't know that they had CARBd headers either. Might have to check it out. Definitely one of the things, gain or no gain, that I want to do. For at least the sound.... Heck even in the Whipple install manual they recommend them if anything for lowering the engine bay temps.
