OK, quick modifier...
If I go staggered, should I keep the stock bullitt up front with say a 255/45 tire, then have the 18x10 with a 285/40. The initial problem would be the stock is polished and the aftermarket is chrome. Could I get the stock one chromed ?? Or would that look stupid ?
nevermind about the 275 on the stock rim, looking at the BF Goodrich site it looks like a 9" rim is needed..... argh
BTW the chrome FR500 looks hot too.

I have to try and keep up.
Stock bullits and aftermarket bullits Stock bullits don't have a lip. That's one of the reasons why I love the stock bullits (makes the rim look bigger). Ever consider widening the stock rims Bill mentioned it on the drive home and now I'm intrigued. Just don't know how safe it is
If not, then I would say the staggered bullits. 18x9 fronts and 18x10

I like the staggered chrome bullitts, DD in the rear. The FR500s are awesome and I like stepping out from the usual Mustang bullitt wheels. I would be intrigued to see the chrome FR500s on your car. My friend has a black on black with FR500s and he really regrets not going staggered/DD. So just keep that in mind.
If you do that, we'll disown you.
You'll need to pick up and extra set of factory Bullitts (to be hacked), then those will be cut and the back half used to widen your wheel. This ensures a perfect match and only 1 weld verus 2 welds on a band.
As far as safety, if matched and welded properly, I see no reason why they wouldn't be safe. Most metal failures occur on the metal itself, not on the welded joint.
Geez Tom, post up some recent pics..

Might have a killer deal to offer on D-specs. Working out the details right now.
Luis-It's better than the price I told you before.
Should see a new thread popping up within the hour.

Well I would, but from 6pm last night to now we've gotten 6" of snow.
If it helps, the car looks the same except it has a Roush scoop instead of the Shaker.
18x9 with 275/40/18s on all four.... wheels are the DD chromes from AMerican Muscle, tires are Nitto 555s. I went with the same size so that I can rotate the tires- my rears always wear out faster than the fronts- I just tell my wife that my rear end needs aligned.

I do could not a wider tire with soo much torque rip that single weld right apart !
