Those are the ones I have. They were $184 per tire when I get them. 295's are going to be a wee bit more.

-----------

Different size front and back and a directional tire, Bill? No rotating for you.

You'll want 255/45-18 in the front, and 295/40-18 in the back to maintain your tire height. But I can't find that size tire in the BFG's you want.

Yes, that's what I want, wider in the rear. I can give two hoots about rotating, so staggered is fine with me.

I'm not sure how the 45 and 40 factor in (visually), but I don't want the look of a huge sidewall.

I found this info from BFG's site..
255/40ZR18 Overall Dia 26.0

295/35ZR18 Overall Dia 26.1

It has our 235/50ZR18's at 27.3 overall dia.

Trying to picture how it'll look with the Ultralite drop is too confusing.

That's why you need 255/45-18 (like me) and 295/40-18 in order to maintain the 27" tire height.
A 1" shorter tire will open your wheel well gap .5" The entire body and frame will lower the other .5"

From the side, the 255/45-18 and 295/40-18 look identical (they have the same sidewall height). It's only from the rear that you can tell that one is wider.

Put those two sizes in here:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

They are both approximately 27" tall, with the same sidewall.

Then put your stock tire size, 235/50-18 on the left, and 295/35-18 on the right to see how much smaller it would be.

I sees.

That settles that because I do not need and additional .5" wheel well gap!

Now, just have to find some decent rubber that'll fit the bill. I know I was against it, but maybe the Triple Nickels come in those sizes?

Nothing wrong with them... they're excellent tires.

But Discount Tire doesn't have any tires in that size... nor does Tire Rack.
Tire Rack has the 295/35-18 in the BFG's at $257 per tire... the 27" is just an odd tire height.

How about 275/40-18 (26.7" tall)? There's a bunch of tires in that size...

Oh well, I'm not ordering any this week anyway. I'll have plenty of time to research.

Leo, that’s exactly the tire I like and I will most likely slap on the GT. Just have to figure out what size given I'm pigeon holed into the 17x8 rim

I believe 255 is as big as you can go with a 8inch rim. I plan on going 255's all around when my tires wear out.

That’s what I want also, 255 50 17 just have to figure out what brand, the F1 doesn't come in that size unfortunately.

Having the 18's probably helps you out somewhat Leo

255's??? You and Leo are a bunch of pansies!

But Phil, you may want to expand your pigeon hole to an 18.

I plan on going with 255/45 or 255/40. Not sure which is the proper fit.

Tom your thoughts?

I like the look of the factory bullits and no one makes a replica. Plus not everyone has money coming out the whazoo Bill.

New the pansies comment was coming Leo, Bill is so predictable

I'd do 18's but then I have to spend money for the 18's, trying to make the 17's work

Exactly Leo, Bill likes to spend our money. I'll save the $ for another mod, I like the OEM Bullets even if they are 17's

I'm not Tom, but do what he said here...

Then put your stock tire size, 235/50-18

In the next block, enter the tire size you're thinking about.

Hey, I like the factory Bullitts too. So much that I paid an extra $800 for them.

But to run some wide meats in the back looks pretty darn aggressive!
It just goes with my theme.

btw, would this be a whazoo?

so are 255s the size limit for the 18" bullits ?? I like I was thinking about 275/45-18s of either the F1s or the KDW... when I need to buy tires that is.
