How will you know until you remove the bolts? You could email or call CDC and ask if the tube pulls out the back once those bolts are removed - or if the scoop has to be removed first for the tube removal.

Looking through some of my Shaker reference pics, I found one that partially shows how the rear duct enters the scoop.
It looks like Tom's right, the scoop must be removed from the shroud before the duct can drop out.

Just got off the phone with CDC tech support. It turns out you have to remove the whole shroud. It's just like Tom said you have to remove the scoop in order to get the tube out. Well I guess this idea will have to wait. In the mean time why don't you be the guinea pig for this Bill.

Tom? Care to remove your ducting?
I actually don't mind (for now) how my plumbing looks.
Leo, you can always drive up Saturday and I'll help you remove all your ducts. We can even ditch the heatshield for a cleaner look... don't worry, I ran without the heatshield for some time with no ill-effects.

Thanks for your offer Bill. I won't be in your area though untill the holidays. If you find some down time then I'll be more than glad to take you up on it.

Your Shaker Hood Stripes
Once the cover is removed you will see the stock lens and the clips that hold it in. There are two squeeze clips on one and and just a tab on the other.

I used a pair of pliers to squeeze a clip together and gently pried the lens with the flat blade screwdriver, and repeated for the second clip. The lens falls out pretty easy.
I then removed the bulb holders from the lens by twisting and gently pulling. Removed the stock bulbs, replaced them with the Stealth Bulbs and then replaced the bulb holders back into the lenses.
Placed the Tab side of the clear lens back into the slot and pressed the lens back into place making sure the squeeze clips popped through the holes.
Replaced the wheel well cover, clips and screws.

Repeat the process for the other side and they look like this when you are done.

Noticed you had a CDC Shaker, was this a custom stripe kit, how hard was it to stripe around the shaker scoop? I have a black GT also and am thinking about doing silver stripes but can't figure out how to cut out for the shaker unless someone knows a vendor that has figured this out.

You can contact Graphic Express to see if they have anything worked out.

Neither Daryl nor Bill had the Shaker installed yet when they put on their stripes. So their trim rings went on over the stripes. I can see how it would be difficult to put on stripes after the trim ring, making sure the stripes butt up against the trim ring all the way around.

1) Remove the trim ring if possible, but if you installed it correctly this is probably not a good option.
2) Remove the Shaker Shroud/Scoop from the engine.
3) Install the hood stripes per the instructions with them laying across the trim ring and hole.
4) Wait for them to dry then using a SHARP x-Acto apply very light pressure and trim the stripe to the trim ring contour but leave a little overhang.
5) Using the squeegee see if you could work the excess under the trim ring. If not then you would have to use the knife again to CAREFULLY trim it to fit.
The only other way I can think of is to carefully and accurately lay out the stripes dry and attaching them to the hood with masking tape, then trimming them to fit. Then they would have to be installed exactly in the position you had them mocked-up in for them to fit correctly.
Did that rambling make any sense
The stripes are BSM 12" Shelby in Gloss White.

Here's what I would do...
- Drill out the pop rivets and remove the upper Shaker trim ring.
- Elevate the hood high enough (place a 4x4 block of wood where the hood latch is) where the Shaker scoop is below the hood plane.
- Layout and install the vinyl stripes. Let them completely dry and trim around the hole.
- Close the hood and temporarily place the upper trim ring in place and center it (front - back - side to side - edge of stripes), then place some masking tape along the trim edge line as a guide when permanently installing it.
- Obtain new adhisive trim tape and re-install the ring using the masking tape as a guide.

First Impressions after Driving in Snow/Ice
Well as you all know, we had some crappy weather around here last week. Snow and mostly ice. Now remember it was so bad that the Interstates and Turnpikes closed
The roads were pretty much solid ice, but I never came close to losing control.
I was pretty concerned about how the car would respond to these harsh conditions, so here is my impression on driving in the snow/ice.
The traction control works, works well and engaged often when I was on pretty much nothing but ice.
Straight lines it did very well and did not engage at all, but the starts and at times the stops got the TCS to engage.
Only way to keep it from engaging on start ups was to feather the clutch a little more than I like to.
A brisk depress of the pedal resulted in spins instantly.
I think the car will do well on not so severe conditions.
So all in all I am very pleased with the performance of the car, especially with 10k not so gentle miles on these stock tires.
PS it was VERY VERY easy to do the donuts in the parking lot at work though.
