I'll call Ford Racing Tech Support tomorrow and see what they say. I was thinking about it and I don't think I'm in the mood to remove struts, swap springs, reinstall struts, re-set camber, replace shocks - along with oil change, rotate tires, paint rotors - all in my 2 days off. I'll do more research on these struts/shocks and do the swap another weekend.
It's about time!

Looks like it's hitting the day/night flipper thingy, so he may not be able to do that.
Bill - can't you angle the middle bar (with the mount on it) up toward the roof a little, and then tilt the mirror back down. That should straighten out the detector.

I believe you're right, I should be able to move the stem upwards like you said to level the detector out.
Thanks!

Bill, thanks for the write up on the oil change. Did the change myself this afternoon. If I hadn't seen the FYI 'bout the stock filter and the mess it makes I would have been pretty frustrated. As it was I was prepared and besides denting the crap outta the filter I got it off.
How much didja pay for that detector. I swear I see more cops, radaring of course, now that I got the 'Stang than I have seen in the last couple of years. It's like they're waiting for me to have some fun.
BTW, went with the Mobil 1 oil and filter. 45 bucks for the filter and case of oil, not bad.

My understanding is that the stock filter is too tight because of being put on without lining it with oil...

I got my S2 used off eBay from a guy who only owned it for a couple months for $230. New is something like $329 from Escort. My custom mount was around $50.
Can't go wrong with that deal, especially doing the labor yourself!
I've also read that the factory uses some type pneumatic machine to install those filters.

I think it has to do with blocking a 'life saving' vehicle.
I had the car running and me ready to jump in 'just incase' the doors started to open as they get ready to roll!
I can picture it already... "See, your Grandpa was pretty cool back in his day!".
