Same deal with the "who would buy an SCT with a stock air-box" crap. If you don't have information to back up your statements, don't say anything at all.

BTW, If it does smell a little, I'll like it. My '89 is pure raw horsepower (carbureted with no emissions what-so-ever) and it smells like a NASCAR garage. I'm sure our H's don't smell that bad, but if it's a little, then great!

I have to say that for the first few hours the smell was really bad when stopped at light with the windows down. Since then I haven't had any problems. If anything I'd describe it as a very faint odor. Which like I said on the other thread only comes through when stopped w/ windows down. My wife's been in the car since the install and didn't complain of any odors.

Initial smell was probably paint and/or coating burning off. You should smell a freshly built engine start for the first time... it smells like it's on fire. And it does smoke (the exhaust from any oil above the cylinders and the engine itself from paint baking, etc.).

One more (You should buy an O/R H pipe) comment. Prepare to have an EAR-GASM every time you start it up or mash the "GO" pedal.

I figured is much considering that when I got back to SD that day the barcode stickers that were on the pipes were scorched off.

Yeah, from out back it can smell a bit, but nothing that'll throw a red flag saying, "Hey! That car smells funny, I think I'll pull it over!".

I have the windows up and AC on 99% of the time, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Yes we do! Why else would we spend countless hours polishing and cleaning it to no end?

Adam's In & Out Detailer Spray

It's official, the In & Out Spray does have UV protection.

Tom & Daryl, I think Leo's found the perfect solution to spiffing up our Shaker scoops.

Thanks for your email and you interest in Adams Polishes.
The In & Out Spray does contain UV sun blockers to help from the damaging sun rays. It is a aerosol can making it very easy to use and safe from the overspray onto the car. A simple microfiber towel will remove any excess overspray onto the car. If you need any more info, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thanks again and Have a Great Day!!!

Sincerely,

Rob White (the detail guru)

I'll have to get some. Spray it on the trim ring and the painted scoop itself?

I think I'm going to put the SCT emblem on like this. It's different, but it doesn't look bad. Then it also be on a totally flat surface.

BTW, before I hear any comments... everything that looks dirty will be cleaned by this Saturday!

Yes. I would also recommend spraying your grill, rad hoses/cover and anything else that's plastic or rubber. Since you have the textured chin spoiler use it on that to and I almost forgot to say use it on your mirrors to. The part that doesn't have the MGWAG inserts obviously. My car was sprayed in all of the above places and still looks great. Richard also told me that the more coats you apply the shinier it gets.

Looks good. What about a pic of the emblem on the lower half of the cover?

BTW that engine is filthy.

I'm planning on raising the hood and spraying the Adam's on the scoop only (rags placed around the base of the scoop). Trim rings and shroud will get the usual Z16 treatment.

------------

Ooooh.. sorry Tom, I ain't feelin' it.

Not compared to that one engine compartment we just saw recently!

Here are some more options. Of all the angled shots, it looks best in the center, but in person it doesn't look right because of covering up the fuse emblem on the cover:

Did you attach yours, yet? Try it at an angle... doesn't look bad in person. I think it was Leo that said something about not wanting to be on the side of the car to read it. This kinda solves that.

I agree, looks best centered, but not covering the fuse pics below it.

I'm not sure if there is a way to angle it in a way that I'll like (for me). I like the idea that the SCT arrow is pointing to the ECM, but how to do it is the question.

No, mine is still in the roll-a-way drawer.

Looks best centered. I may put mine on once I get my fuse box cover.

BTW my chin spoiler has been shipped. Idiots didn't include a tracking numbe so I sent them an email asking for one.

I agree, but only if it doesn't cover up the fuse emblem. I think I'll do it the way I showed first... but maybe a little toward the center.

Sent you guys in email. It has info on getting 10% off any UPR order. I just ordered my fuse box cover, A/C valve caps and antenna delete. I figured I'd go with the antenna delete for car show's and just run with the factory antenna regularly. That way I won't lose either one.

Got your e/m, thanks.

You'll like the AC cap covers, they look nice. Same goes for the antenna delete. It doesn't pick up too many stations, but it sure looks purdy!

I dropped in my application lastnight for the Sunset Showdown.

Leo, you'll be going up against my other buddy, Sal, in the Personalized Class.

Here's his GT:
