Mine is at the shop and I got a nasty surprise... an estimate for just a bumper replacement went sky high once things where inspected more closely. $4K on repairs to the body and frame

For some reason its led to mods though

Upcoming:

  • new side skirts from newtakeoff.com
  • SHR lower grille
  • color sanding the whole car
  • Deka ETX14 battery (12 pounds!)
  • Braille battery holder
  • and a car cover (finally )

So how is everyones' cars doing? It seems like all the events of the past are well in the past. We seem to have gotten the kinks out so to speak. I know mine is running well.
Only a couple things I on my do list.....

1. Find out what the front swaybar is making contact with. (I get this stupid popping sound over any uneven roads.

2. Get some sort of breather so I stop getting oil on the valve cover.

3. Get my A47 mirrors painted body color. It's only been a year and they have crazy sun damage.

The important part though is the car is running great even after the flogging I gave it at the track last Friday.

Saturday wrap up:

Went to Cars & Coffee but when I got there I realized I forgot to charge the camera batts DOH! Looks like the old FORD building is finally taken over by TB. FORD still maintains 1/2 of the building for car design/R&D. "Daisy" was designed here.

Went by Parts Pro but realized they didn't order all of the part so I'll pay them a visit next week.

Got a hair cut!

Went to a restaurant on my Bucket List:
Known for their French dipped sand! I ordered a double dipped beef sand w/ blue cheese.

All in all the sand was good but I think I like the prime rib sand at Houstons better! The secret sauce is the bomb though!

On my way out of China town I notice this business strange name...
Profit through Poo!

I need to talk to these people and schedual a date & time. I may consider Chicane for the 373's install if he can complete the job in one day. That would also include Axle shafts and the TruTrac diff. Joe at Chicane has a $400.00 deal until the end of the year for FRP 373 gears and install.
All that stuff is fine and dandy, but you're dancing around the ultimate mod... ROUSH forged longblock assembly.

12-14 lbs of boost is in your future!

And I have noticed some oil in the hole where the number one spark plug goes on the passenger side. It's directly beneath the breather I put on the passenger valve cover. Plus theres a mess of oil residue in the area. Driver's side is perfectly fine.
Battery Tender on mine 24/7 too.

Same goes for the oil puddle on the Pass side. It's the byproduct of not having a catch can on that side.

At one time i thought that too but now I would only do that if the motor blows up. So if I'm forced to do it. All the rear end stuff is probably my last major mod area on the car. I want to get my finances ready for a new daily driver. In most cases that will be a sport SUV of some kind with a turbo hopefully. Plus I'll get it loaded with all the upgrades at the time. My time table is about two years from now, it all depends how the Highlander holds up. So far that car is solid, I usually purchase a new DD every 12 years or so.

Ya I want to checkout breakfast too. It's worth a try for sure parking is easy they have a big lot to the left of the restaurant. Plus it's an L.A. landmark!

Hey check out this chic...

What were missing today:

GTR has a customer appreciation day today.
NHRA drag racing at Pomona. Jane Tasca owes me a cap!

Anyone going to either?

Tried out a new Mexican eats place in Torrance, Poquito Mas.

Food was great, easy on the wallet, and serves beer!

Ya I've driven by the place 100 times and always wanted to go in. Glad we have POTR recon. Another place we need to try in this it's in the hood, but oh so good!
