Brian, and a few of the S197/ST guys met down at Barona. It was a good time even though we only got about 4 runs.

First run by myself 7.9
Second run Vs Brian 7.6 to Brian's 8.1 (So we both had our best run's at the same time New Best ET's)

Third run Vs Brian 7.7
Fourth run Vs Brian 7.8

BTW-I won all three times. Centri rules again.

One thing I will admit though is Brian had me at the tree everytime. Heck I think for the most part he even had me up untill the 60ft.

I felt like going for a cruise.

Sh*t.... 4 runs, I'm relieved I didn't go

Brian and Leo - Great runs

Leo is definitely the burnout king

Figure I should give info on my day, seeing as how I ditched Leo and Brian for a cruise.

The cruise was awesome. It wasn't a big crowd; it was just the right amount. The route was so much fun. Leo, it's a good thing you didn't go because you would have a) driven off the mountain b)hit another car when going around the twisties or c) driven to slow to have fun in fear of the above It was a tight-turning canyon run. Did not mind the G-forces when hitting the twists POTR brought home the gold yet again. One highlight for me was receiving my first trophy I'll post pics tomorrow but it's not going to be anything like Jed's of course.

Better get used to it because you ain't ever gonna win nothing at the track being all mouth on the 'net

My trophies are little pieces of paper

Congrats dude.

Still in those 4 runs driving from San Berdo to SD then to Barona was absolutely worth every mile and penny. IMO. For me, better than a trophy.

Not anytime soon. I'm still recovering from the S/C, rims/tires.

Congrats on the trophy.

Wouldn't have been worth it for me (I wouldn't be saying that had I actually gone ). I can have more passes at Irwindale with less distance traveled. Only reason I wanted to go was to hang out with everyone and that track does seem fun, not 4 passes only fun though. Maybe next month

Brian, are you getting anymore comfortable shifting in the drags? Are we going to see better times with practice?

Luis, where was the cruise today and congrats on the trophy!?

yes and no. I missed 2->3rd on my first run, which was a complete fiasco anyway... burnout w/traction control on... then catch up to Leo. Get to the light, stage, check the tach.... oh **** the trees going, launch at way too low RPM, then miss the shift.......

So that right there says I need to get a procedure down and not let anything affect me, which it totally did on my first run. So next runs are all about getting that start line procedure down so I don't get rattled.

Shifting. MY GOD I cannot stop my stupid right foot from lifting when I shift. I promise if I could get a run together and speed shift that thing I'd be 7.8 at least. There should be a 7.3-7.5 in that car right now, so that is how much the driver needs to get his game together.

Start line procedure, work on the shifting and Leo will be looking to get that converter real soon

I would have done the cruise if it didn't look like it was all completely falling apart on Thursday and it was going to be us three down in SD. FWIW

temecula

a town outside of san diego county. most people from temecula cant afford to live in san diego, but they wont tell you that. the population of temecula consists of 12 year old emo kids with hot topic clothes often seen wandering the mall ,teenagers with lifted trucks that have never seen dirt and have logos of companys that would never sponsor them, so they pay to have the logos put on thier trucks. the older residents of temecula all work desk jobs .these jobs are all in san diego. if you want a close up of these folks, wait where the 78/15 freeway merge in escondido. these desk slaves clogg this part of the freeway sure as the sun rises 5 days a week. The average teenage guy from temecula can eaisily spotted because they all wear the same mall bought clothes examples:skin indusrty active lost no fear ect ect ect.you will know them because all they say is yeah brah we mobbed that jump!got like six inches of air!
you will know if you are in temecula because every lifted stickered truck will have a quad or dirtbike in the back. these quads and dirtbikes never see the dirt. they just sit in the back of the truck so everyone knows you are from temecula.
temecula girls are an easy topic to cover. they all look the same and act the same. that is fake.

&

A town in California where everyone is a snob. The town is in much overdevelopment. Kids all over smoke marijuana and there are traffic problems.

I agree you should defintly be able to get 7.3-7.5 range if I'm at 7.6 with 45 less hp and about 50 60 less torque.

Once you stop letting the Black Mamba (My car's new name) intimidate you you'll be fine.

Don't fear the Vortech Brian.

black mamba

n. Used to describe a black male's *****. The word is derived from both the length of the genitalia, and the promiscuousness of which African American males are known for and the STDs they may carry. The serpent; black mamba is known for is deadliness. Thus in the term "black mamba," deadly consequences are possibly brought to those who allow the snake into their den, so to speak.

Jed made me do it!

Go figure Jed would say something like that. Him and Bill were the one's on a date at the Casino today. Perhaps they met a "black mamba" there.:gay:

Here's the real meaning of "black mamba".

The Black Mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis), is an elapid snake and is one of Africa's most dangerous and feared snakes. It has a wide range of known locations throughout Africa. The black mamba is found in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Botswana, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa and the Congo. They inhabit a wide variety of areas that include open savannahs, open woodlands, and rocky outcrops.[1] It is also known for being very aggressive when disturbed or confronted and will not hesitate to strike with deadly precision.
The black mamba is the largest venomous snake in Africa and the second longest venomous snake in the world. Adult black mambas have an average length of 2.5 meters (8.2 ft) and a maximum length of 4.5 meters (~14 ft).[2] Like all other reptiles, the black mamba relies on external heat to regulate the temperature of its body.[1] Of the venomous snakes of the world, only the King Cobra is longer. [3]

The name "black mamba" is somewhat confusing because it contradicts the snake's actual color. Its body is not black at all; the name is given to it because of its inky black mouth. Normally, mambas have a dark olive, olive green, grey brown, or metal color. Some of them have a light band around their body. As mambas get older, their skin begins to darken.[4].[2]

Congrats on the day guys! Leo, nice times and great smoke show! At that rate, both you AND Brian will be looking for new tires LOL.....

Brian, you have the MGW shifter, right? Couple more trips to the track and you'll get more & more comfortable, which will ease your shifting. Don't worry about lifting on gas during the shift, again with more practice you'll find yourself speed-shifting before you even know it. I still don't full-on power shift my car either.....

dang ray

how bad does speedshifting hurt the clutch? I'm sure it's a little faster, but when I drove the 5spd in my old truck I'd let off gas, clutch in, shift, and get back on the gas as I let off the clutch, to bring the revs up a little. And I could do that faster than the auto in my car now shifts
