(21.5" and 19.5" being the actually diameter of 20's and 18's).

Hey Crew! [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img] Been out of the loop for a while. Actually preping the boats for another season etc. Pollen is so bad here a wash lasts about 2 hours. Shantel isn't celebrating yet Susan, they are stil getting as I write this Monday at 1729. Still looking forward to our " breathe a little easier party" [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif[/img] . Very sweet fuel door Bill! The bolt covers are the stuff too. We are going in for a warranty replacecment of the cover for the trunk lock mechanism Tomorrow as soon as we get off the water. Averaging about 17.9 mpg so far with 1800 miles on. Got the ACC GT mats and they are a perfect fit with back seat mats that work too. Whoever supplies Ford definitely got it wrong in the fit department. Tried the Snap Fit tint and it whipped me in the time I allowed so will have the pros do it before it gets hot here. Whose seat is the eject button hooked up to Susan? [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img] Shantel actually let me drive the car one day but I think she had spies all around town ready to rat me out if I did something I wasn't supposed to..... I mean how much troube could I get into????? Sea yawl!

Pollen ? you must be on the west coast as well as I can wash my car and go in for a shower come out and you'd think the nieghbour was hacking up trees all morning with a power saw ! Here in Victoria it's thick as molases

Daryl- Are they going to paint the back of the quarter window scoops? I read elsewhere that the painter left the backside of the scoop (facing the glass) in primer and didn't look too good from inside the cabin. You may want to ask you painter, don't assume.

[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif[/img] We talked about the back side of the scoops and he said either black or Vista Blue can't remember which. Either way my window tint would mask most of it I think. |

And can't wait to see the finished product, Daryl! Ok, here's the final thing I'm going to ask about the rims before I pull the trigger and order them. Here is what my car will look like with 18's. I haphazardly reduced the rims using Paint again, so the rotors and calipers are now 90% too small, but it still gives a pretty good idea: <span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%">20's -</span> [attachmentid=47237] <span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%">18's -</span> [attachmentid=47238] So, final thoughts? Better than the 20's? Worse than the 20's? Just right? If you save both pictures to the same folder, you can use the arrow keys to flip back and forth really quick to see it one way then the other. Wheel just isn't centered on the tire (rears: too much sidewall near the top, close to perfect near the bottom). It could throw some opinions off if they focus on the wide sidewalls. |

I think I'll go with the 18's, though because of reasons other than looks. The 20's have the wrong offset. As one person pointed out, they have the "pre-'05 offset", while the 18" version has the perfect offset for our cars. Also, there is so little tirewall and the ride is pretty rough and you feel every bump. One person at work pointed out how the sidewall looks REALLY small on the bottom of the rim because of the weight of the car.

I was going to order this cover from Summit Racing today:

The Block-IT 200 is a lighter cover and only $90, but I'm not sure about that "Good" rating. I wonder for my use, if the "Block-IT 200" would be good enough? Maybe the "Noah" cover is meant for cars stored outside all the time? The 200 would be a lot easier to put on and take off as it's a lot thinner than the Noah. Why is everything so difficult? AutoVation custom racing pedals installed!
I've been looking into adding some cool pedal covers for a while, even before taking delivery of the Mustang. I've looked at Ultimate Pedals (nice, but expensive), Steeda pedals (okay looking, but a great price), and finally the AutoVation pedals. I chose the AutoVations because they are of high quality at a great price. As a whole, the installation was simple. Only difficult parts was drilling into the factory steel clutch/brake pedals and the limited working space to do the job. Here's pics of the install. With a file, remove sharp edges behind the pedal caused by drilling the hole. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_1080.jpg Temporarily mount the pedal to layout the top 2 holes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_1081.jpg Repeat steps for brake pedal. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_1082.jpg When all 6 holes are drilled and de-burred, install pedal covers with supplied hardware with a drop of Loctite. Locate gas pedal cover over the factory plastic pedal. Note: Ensure that the lower edge of the pedal cover is even with the factory pedal. Otherwise, the cover will contact the carpet first, possibly not allowing 100% engine power if depressed all the way down to the floor. I used a small pilot drill to locate the first hole in the gas pedal. I then attached the cover with the supplied self-tapping screw then verified its location before driving the rest of the attaching 3 screws down. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_1086.jpg New Ford Racing mats (had to wait for these before installing the heel guard plate). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_7780.jpg Layout of the heel guard plate. Beneath the carpet is a foam block. The supplied self-tapping screws just screw through the carpet and into the foam. Looks great, Bill! Now you'll have to tell us how it is when driving (and foot comfort).
During shifting, when I lift up the clutch I feel a slight slippage of the rubber cover (at least I guess that's what it is). I'm sure these would eliminate that problem all together. Is the group buy still available? I think it was through April 29th if I'm not mistaken. Was the heel gaurd and footrest all part of the deal, too? You may have told us before, but for some reason I've been pre-occupied with rims and tires! MAN! Looking at it again, they look awesome with those floor mats... I think you just spent some more of my money! |
