Thanks Brian!

Either Jed or myself would be happy to create something with you. Get some hi-res images together and let us know what you are looking for.

If I get any wheel hop after she's back on the road, and after the Eibach Pro install, I'll get the relo-brackets. If I don't, I'll leave my setup as is.

Power Heads looks pretty good too.

What's the name of that other place in Santa Fe Springs that GTR also uses?

Here's another CA source.. Modular Mustang Racing

+7 on the forged parts. The tentative plan for me is to go forged by the end of next year. I hope.

If it makes a difference. I never had a lot of wheel hop. I don't now. At the track it may be a different story.

Can anyone tell us 'pre-forged' guys what the recommended compression ratio us FI guys should be running?

Probe Forged Pistons (probably the same as other manufacturers)

from past experience I would think that you'll want either the 9:1 or the 10.2:1. The 11 is too steep for street use unless you use race gas. On top of that being blown you typically want the lower compression ratio, too high and you'll never stop it from detonating.

If it were me, unless I didn't have a choice, I'd go with the 9:1. I'd never heard of Probe before as a piston Mfg... JE, Arias, Venolia, Ross, Mahle, TRW.. ??

Checked out Probe. Seems pretty good. If you're gonna do it get the 5.1L kit

I don't think I'd go any higher than 9.5. 9.0 or even slightly less would probably be good. Remember you don't need compression from the pistons when you're dumping 10+psi into the cylinder.

comp. ratio around 9 should be close, but I'd see about calling someone at ford, or saleen, etc that would know for sure

Looking at Livernois, they offer 2 compression ratios for different applications;

Centri S/C: 12cc 9.7:1
Roots/Turbo: 17cc 9.1:1

I e-mailed Rick @ Livernois to get a better understanding of what compression ratio he recommends for my non-cooled Vortech setup. I'll post back when he replies.

I think they had a GB over at ModFords a couple months back for a complete short block for $4499 plus freight.

Your all f'n crazy. See why I don't want a blower. Because then after the blower it's forged interals after the interals it's upping the boost. Where does it end? Before you know it you could've bought a Z06. Totally staying N/A.

With that said I won't turn down any ride alongs from any of you.

Looks like George and myself will be the only N/A in the POTR crew by then end of the year.

Hey Leo stop with the negitive vib's already Come to the darkside my son . It's time to find ways to become SC'ed. Maybe a second job? Maybe selling peanuts or flowers at the stop light? Working OT for the man?

Plus do you think were going to stop at a stock Z06 Hello!

Your comments are the screams of a desperate man

Jed

Not putting down what you guys are doing. I'm just saying where does it end? It's more about the $$$$ after the blower than the money for the blower. Seems like once you get the blower it's an endless money pit that follows. Then again If I was a big baller like you I'd probably be doing the same thing.

I think we have a hater

Look at how long Jed/Tom have gone with no need for forged. Brian is planning to do it for precaution. Jed is doing it to be top dog again Tom... Well, who knows. He's already gone through two blowers

I'm sure you want to come to the darkside... It will only be a matter of time...

I'm just giving you a hard time Leo. I have always wanted to go blower. Its always been more about when then why.

In hindsight, yes, I would do the SC all over again.. believe it!! (with a some key changes of course).

I just got a taste of what it'll be like; can never go back now.. I've crossed the N/A line.
