Tom's back! So, how are things in the Fox Forum?

Actually, I'm bored out of my skull. So to entertain myself, I'm thinking about putting her on the Dynojet (since I think I'll be able to get a discount) and once again thinking about U/D pulleys.

I know the gears won't add any HP, in fact, I've read that I'll actually lose some.



In my wishful thinking, I'm hoping for 300 RWHP. Am I dreaming?

I've been here. But have been more Fox-minded lately, yes.

Everything is ordered - Centerforce Dual Friction pressure plate (500 ft-lbs torque capacity), carbon-fibor lined clutch disc, throw-out bearing, and World Class T5 transmission. All for $1105. I will have the flywheel and clutch reinstalled this weekend, but I won't have the tranny until next week. All I have to do is mount it to the engine and lift everything back into the car.

The gears will change the graph on the HP and TQ chart, but I really doubt I lost any HP or TQ going from 3.08 to 3.73.

With 15% loss, you will have to hit 353 BHP to get 300 RWHP. So, if you think you added 53 HP over stock, then you might get there. I have a 20% loss with the T5, so I have to hit 375 BHP to get 300 RWHP. But, all I really want is 331 BHP (1 HP per Cubic Inch), so anything over that will be great.

Of course, I have to do it with a pushrod, OHV engine... not a more efficient OHC engine like you!

You should feel how nice it feels with the swaybar off!

To try it, you can take off 1 swaybar end-link (either side, it doesn't matter). The swaybar will still be there, but it won't be doing anything and each side will be truely independant. If you like it after a week of driving, you can take the whole thing out. If you don't like it, you can re-install the end-link.

Oh, that's right... well, then YOU should feel how nice it feels with the bump stops cut and the swaybar removed.

I might once I start feeling this 'bone jarring' stopper and stiff front end that you guys are talking about. Honestly, my car rides just fine as is.

Mine road just fine, too... it's just better now. It was never "bone jarring", but you could feel it bottom out. I'm sure yours is, too - did you ever look to see if there was a mark from the bumpstop?

Like I've said before, if you put 250 miles on it a week you would notice the benefits of cutting the bumpstops and removing the swaybar.

I'd join in the bumpstop love-fest, but I performed the bump-stopectomy myself when I put on my springs. It was one of the things that just about everyone had recommended. Since then all signs of bump-stop jar have cleared up.

Here's a recent picture of my bump stop.



There's a slight indication on the frame where it has made contact. From what I see, it's not occurring on a daily (ie. everytime I take it out) basis. Who knows, maybe the few times it has made contact is when I had rear passengers.

So according to Tom, if I'm >250mi a week, I'm good! No bump-stopectomy for me! I get to keep both my bump tips!!

I think it's possible. Think of it this way I lost HP in the top end because of the torque tune. (Which is where it matters on a dyno) So I'd say that your car running a 91Race and being a Manual should be really close if not at 300RWHP.

I'd say it mostly because when you drive it your not going over speed bumps and stuff the normal daily driver goes through.
