+1, here too. I took a lot, but, well, uh, lets just say they need a lot of help. Heck if you were getting buzzed by war planes every 15 minutes or so, without an eye like her's, they would be a 'tad' off center also.
I'll be posting mine there, later today also.

Here's a pic of my unique trophy that I got at the Fantasy of Flight Show. It was for 1st place in my class - People's Choice.

No... just People's Choice. Not even 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. But they called them out in that order for each class.
There were two editor's choices and then best paint, interior, engine, and best of show - those trophies were really awesome.

Yes, that is a very unique looking trophy.
Are you sure you didn't buy it from a vendor there and just stuck that plaque on it?
j/k.. congratulations Tom.

Congrats on the cool trophy Tom.

Knott's show is coming up this weekend. I have alot of work to do to get it ready for the show. She's filthy right now. I think it's been 2+ weeks since I've washed her.
With that said I'm not going to go to crazy cleaning her since my odds of placing at this show are worse than 1 in 100. I'm just going because I already paid and didn't want to miss the first and biggest show of the season. I know Bill's going for moral support. Hopefully some more of the TMS socal guys will show up.

1) It gives me an excuse to clean the heck out of the car (it's the fall and spring car cleaning, although the car is typically clean enough anyway , so this just makes it extra-clean)
2) It allows me to see what other people are doing to their cars, and to get ideas for my own.
Think about it: you spend upwards of $50-100 for registration and car cleaning supplies, to get a trophy that you could buy for $5.
I don't mean to flame anyone or step on anyone's toes. And don't get me wrong: I'm P'd when another car that IMO looks worse places better than me. But at the end of the day, it's just a trophy that isn't seen by anyone but you.
Honestly, that's why I love going to cruise-ins instead. Your car doesn't have to be spotless, you don't have to sit out in the sun ALL day, and since there's a wide range of vehicles, most people will be all-over each car (vs. a mustang car show where there's hundred's of pretty much the same car, so people just start overlooking them).

I understand where you're coming from, now hear me out.
Leo is like me. For club cruise-in's, car gatherings, etc., it's very casual and your car only needs to be 'presentable'. But for a car show, where you have to pay money, have seperate Classes, is being judged or People's Choice'd, the objective is to win.
This is the only reason why I passed the Knott's show. I'm not going to subject myself to extra prepping duties, pay money, and bake out in the sun (any my car) for nothing in return (no offense Leo ). Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to place everytime I enter, but having a shot at a trophy is what I'm striving for; just like setting a goal. At this upcoming Knott's show, there is no shot. Leo was being nice when he gave himself a 100:1 odds, truth is, it's more like 300+:1. The way it'll go down is that they'll have 3 celebrity Trophies, where each 'celebrity' will pick their favorite car among the 1100+ entries and those lucky 3 will get a trophy.
As far as being there just to check out other rides and get ideas, I'll be doing that too... but for free and without my car there.
