PLEASE HELP! Car got broken into last night

My understanding with some lock sets these days Greg is that you can't buy one like the door .It comes now as a complete set (ignition etc.) .
If the thiefs have taken your regestration it is more likely that they are going to try to go through ford and get a new key issued to your car and just "Drive it away" from your place ,thats how some of them operate these days .I would suggest changing the whole lock set in the car to be on the safe side as soon as possible. :notnice: and notify your dealer that someone may ask for another key for your car under your name .He might be able to set it up some how that if a dealer is contacted not to make the key.

Handle: $48.33 (can be ordered in color) .8 lbr
Lock Cyl: $64.00 lbr inc
About $150 installed at a bodyshop.
Man I tell you what. When I go to the pistol range, the only thing I'm concerned about is someone dinging my door. I never would've thought someone would have the nuts to break into my car at a gun range... wow. Good luck on catching the bastards.

The latest scam around here, is to break into your car, steal your documents that have your home address on it, and steal your garage door opener, so they can get into your garage, while you are gone.
Just something for everyone to keep in mind.

Wow, that's rough. It is definitly stupid to steal a car at a gun range... I wonder if the same laws would apply if you shoot someone breaking into your car as they do for breaking into your house. Anyway, good luck for finding the responsible individuals and hopefully having the patience to let the justice system do it's work, now that it is far to late to do anything to drastic. Sorry to hear about the loss and damage, but it could have been a lot worse.

A lot of dealers now require a driver's liscence for cutting a key. The thief would need to make a fake driver's liscence with your info and their picture in order to do it. Even then, the PATS system would prevent the car from starting because when you buy a key from the dealer it is unprogrammed and will not start the vehicle.

With all the technology out there nowadays I wouldnt put anything past these punks. Change all your locks and ignition cylinder like someone mentioned. has anyone seen that show on Discovery called "catch a Thief" or something like that> id make sure your house is real secure as well. Watch that show. cant remember when it is on but after seeing it I was amazed how fast these POS can break in and how no one in the neighborhood has a clue. And if you happen to shoot one of the b*stards remember the most important thing...."this thread is worthless without pics" GL and be safe

Hey heres an old farmers tip, if you find'em squeeze a round off in their head, hang 'em up and gut'em while leaving their entrails blowing in the wind close to where they were causing you the trouble, tends to scare the rest away
