Maybe they'll actually be affordable now. Most tires are made in China anyways...makes sense.

I don't like it much either, but Patrick is right. A lot of our tires, even good ones, are now coming from China, as well as most other things. Just Sad.

I buy a few sets of tires each year for my cars and trucks. I will never buy ones from China. I buy Goodyear Eagle and Cooper now, all of which are made here in the good old USA.

My MPSS tires were made in France in the front and the USA in the rear IIRC. Although I wouldn't mind some Pirelli Trofeo R's

Goodyear has two plants in China, DOT coded, and consumer tires made at those plants, along with many others in other countries besides the US, and in looking at Eagle LS, two plants other than US are used, Japan and Canada:

But a majority of the higher performance Eagles are indeed US plants, but still, can't put a blanket on 'All US' on Goodyear.

Tire Rack doesn't deal Coopers, so the country of origin isn't as easy to find for the Coopers, turns out. Still, it's known the Zeons are Chinese, and probably a few others as well.

Every tire company is like this. There is no escaping that someday, somewhere you're gonna get a tire not made in the USA. They are *world* companies, not USA ones. They deal with everyone else, because tires. There's no escaping... well, not without due dilligence:

You can then find out for sure where the tire was made and whether you want to buy it or not.

Hope that helps, but good luck on stopping the move to other countries. Gotta get people to not want money working here... or get those other countries' peoples to want (need?) the same money, so there's no real competition and the move doesn't happen. Among other economic reasons, I'm sure.

/I wholly support your right to not buy a "not-USA" anything... just don't think it's really all that feasible in today's world, is all.

Yep, Coopers made in China now. And guess what, they perform better than my $400/tire American made MPSS. My Centerlines are made in China too. As is our transmission and probably ALL of the switches, harnesses, screens and lights in our cars. Can't escape it.

That I find hard to believe no offense. You don't see many people running the RS3's at track days but plenty of MPSS cars going around the tracks.

I didn't say how I was using them. For a street car, the Coopers fit my needs much better. They're also 60% less expensive. In the cold and in the rain, the Coopers are outperforming the MPSS on my car. Different sizes though. But they're quieter, turn in has been sharper, rain traction better.

Roush doesn't put them on their cars for nothing...

I looked at all of my tires before they installed them . All say Made in the USA. I was told that over flow was coming in from China. Not sure how true that was.

This type of news upsets me a LOT! I will still avoid Chinese made tires if at all possible. So far so good with my Goodyears.

I don't mind them being made in China. China can produce REALLY high quality goods when they want to, and many companies have figured out how to get that quality instead of the usual ****. Of course other companies just want the cheapest stuff and the quality reflects that.

I use my RS3s at the track and still love them. Slick when they are cold in between runs, but once up to temp I like the grip they provide.

Yeah I noticed when it's under 50*, the grip isn't there. But that's to be expected with summer tires. They seemed to warm up quicker than the MPSS.

Love my RS3s as well. Great tires for the Road. Quiet, Ride nice, and do very well when pushing the car on those windy twisty roads. Never tracked so can't comment on that.

It doesn't matter where something is made. Many brands make their products in China, Indonesia etc. in order to save may on labor force.

Anyway, Pirelli has always been a Camaro thing :P
