A measly 7º here right now and supposed to be below zero tonight. I have a wood furnace and that's been running since 7am (8pm now) and I can't get it over 75º in here. Usually I can get from about 68º to 80º in about 5-6 hours.

The good news is that the jet stream is dipping and bringing some warm air this way. 30's on Monday and 50's for friday!

You can always turn on the heat strips and watch your electric meter fly

We have a wood stove in the basement, but that is the only source of heat down there. Our house is just a small rancher, but the entire basement is underground and gets pretty cold. It's nice in the summer, though! Mr. Jill likes to keep the house at 68 which is way too cold for me. But he doesn't care, as long as he's comfortable, that's all that matters

The HVAC is out of my control since that's what he does for a living (well, except he works on chillers and not residential stuff). We used to have electric baseboard heaters in all of the rooms, but finally got rid of them over the years. They were not the most cost effective either. We really need to revamp the system and add ductwork to the basement. It's just that when we do it, we need to pretty much gut the entire thing and basically start from scratch. My basement is the same it's been since I bought the place in March of 1992. Maybe oak paneling will come back in style soon!

I keep my place at 68 in the winter, but that's because my office where I spend most time is carpeted. The floors in the living room are too cold at 68.

Keep mine at 68 in the winter too, never more than 70. Can't stand it any warmer, feels too suffocating, especially at night. Can't sleep if its like that. Hell sometimes I'll close the vents in the bedroom at night. I'd much rather have it chilly in the bedroom and get under a bunch of blankets, comforter, etc.

Anyone else noticed that the interiors on the new Volvos look amazing?

Like the Volvos, but this one I love. Can't wait till these aren't 100k.

New Lincoln Navigator, with freakin' 30 way power seats!

Yup 68 here too. Wife gets chilly and outs on layers but if she kicks the thermostat up even to 69 I can tell and I have to strip down naked. Nobody wants that to happen anymore lol

Little icy this morning! And sometimes I wish I didn't have to drive east in the mornings. There are two really bad spots where the sun is that you can't see anything and I feel like I could really use a spotter to get me through!

Wasup Wasup Wasup TMSers? I miss you guys. Been just too dang busy to check in with y'all sorry. Holidays and now this nuclear winter is really kicking my butt. When I have a few minutes to spare, I've been slowly getting my cop car where I want it. This isn't a mustang but it sure is a fun car and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

Watching the Barrett Jackson auction and an '88 white corvette convertible just sold twice for $300k. It was a charity car for the heart association but wow people have some serious scratch!

I'm freaking sick. Don't know if its a cold or the flu, the way I feel I'm pretty sure its Ebola with a twist of Lyme disease.
