Nathan, don't give your affection to objects; they can't and don't return the sentiments. That car won't move an inch for you unless you gas it up and keep it maintained. When all the chips are down on the table, good friends and family are the things that really matter. Even (or especially) to a kid who constantly expresses his dissatisfaction with his parents and siblings-- you'll change your tune some day, hopefully before it's too late.

And I know I complain about my family quite a bit, but I love them a ton and would give my life for them. I'm just to the age where I really need my own space.
Which then leads to the whole car vs. saving to move out thing. I need to win the danged lottery already.
