FTR the garage floor is level, I guess my camera was crooked.

Is it bad that I have my Raptor, SHO, R, and 7 in the garage and the wife's car is outside under the porte-cochère

No it's not bad. The cobra and the kids bicycles stay in my garage. The wife's car and my work truck stay in the driveway. Haha

I've even made a 6'x16' storage room on the side of the house with double doors so the kids can keep their bikes there. No bikes allowed in the garage anymore.

This begs the question, do you also have 10,000 dollars worth of tools in a massive tool chest off on the side of the garage, so you can fix anything possibly wrong with your cars/trucks, and do stuff for friends who are willing to pay?

I do not. I have a modest tool chest with most of the tools to do a job and I'm collection more and more as I do each project.

I do have a metric *** ton of take off parts from these cars. I've kept every part I've used and every part I've used and removed to replace with another part. Not to mention the parts that aren't even installed yet.

So how does the lift work, cables and pulleys? (and then stops once in place?) 110 or 220? What is the max lifting weight?

Speaking of which, I still have my open/box ends, ratchet & sockets, quality knuckle busters, from 1970 I bought for my dirt bikes, and the sheet metal toolbox I made in 9th grade shop class. (And an impact driver if you know what that is. lol)
Though they are metric they have worked on Honda's, Suzuki's, 442, Land Cruisers, F150, Lotus, Saturns, GMC, AMC, Chrysler and Bullitt. And numerous small engines in between. Only needed to add a few pieces & a torque wrench along the way, and never bought any sae. I splurged in the 80's and bought an air ratchet for taking the cam towers off the Lotus for changing shims/adjusting valves. Other than that its a pretty basic set and has done the job.
If those wrenches could talk, they could tell you a lot of bull **** (and teach some cuss words)! Those tools made the self taught mechanic I am today. I am not afraid!

It is cables and sheaves. There is a pneumatic ram that works off the pump. The ram pulls and the cables that run through the sheaves and the cables are permanently attached at the top of each column. There are safeties every 4" that click as they go up. Once you stop and rest the runways on the safeties then it takes a 50psi compressed air attachment to release the safeties. The second safety would be the the cables themselves. They've got to be 5/8" thick at least. Then if those failed there is a "slack" cable safety. In other words a spring loaded safety that would also spring and catch in the safety slots should the cable break of become slack.

It is 220. Max lifting weight is 9,000 lbs but there are limitations based on wheelbase. If the wheelbase is say 90" or less then you can only lift 50% of that 9,000 lbs. If its 90"-100" then you can lift 75% and so forth. In other words you can't just plop 9,000 lbs. in the center of one runway and lift. The runways apparently won't support that.

Builder was a huge D-bag. I mean a real tool. I'd call him and sometimes he wouldn't even call me back. None of his estimates were right. The whole job was WAY over budget. I'm beginning to wonder if he was taking kick backs from the subs on the side.

Well there's no denying your status as a baller now. Nobody but a baller uses the word, or even has a porte-cochère. Hell, I had to google to find out what the **** it was.

Looks like Janis came back to suck up some of her stuff.

Joplin in for More Severe Weather, Possible Tornadoes
May 23, 2011
The tornado traveled 6 miles from the west side of the city to the southeast portion. The southern edge of the city was the hardest hit. The tornado ranged from half a mile to three-quarters of a mile in width. While the exact strength of the storm is yet to be determined, it could be upwards of an EF4.
According to Kathy Dennis of the American Red Cross, "75% of the town is virtually gone."
