VHT Niteshades. And clear coat. Then polish the hell out of the clear and you'll have a real nice shiny light. It's cheap, and it works. My tails are smoked with that, but I didn't polish because I wanted them semi-flat.

So while I wasn't paying attention in math today (whoo topics I learned in 8th grade and have to keep listening to ) an idea struck me, and I doodled a bit The end result was my idea for a one of a kind custom grille for my '91, inspired by the Raptor. Basically my thoughts are to get a chrome grille, cut out the entire interior of it, then in either plastic, or sheet metal, cut out "FORD" to mimic the Raptor, then paint it flat black, and add the 5 amber running lights, 1 in each top corner, 3 in the top center. And possibly put black mesh behind the FORD in the grille.

I'll consider it a tribute.

I think it would look unique and would be the only one with a grill like that ... I'm not sure about the lights in the corner though.

Edit: NVM I read it wrong I think that would look good!

The amber lights or the driving lights I already have on the outside middle of the grille?

Only change I can think of is that the R will be blockier, as well as the D.

Not a fan of the VHT stuff. I've heard too many horror stories of people doing it themselves, and $80 for a set of lights to practice on just wouldn't be worth the risk for me.

That could look good if done right.

I spent $30 for an extra set of tails, but they were the style I wanted. That and I could have taken them back to the junkyard and they would have taken back no questions so I really wasn't concerned. I've done 3 sets of lights, 2 with proper prep and they have come out great. The 2nd set I did, my friend was impatient, didn't have proper prep supplies and it showed, a lot.

Anyways, aside from being semi-flat to matte in finish, if done carefully you'll be more than fine if you have any spray painting experience whatsoever.

Or go professional and go from "Oh those look good" to "holy hell, where'd you get those?!"

I think I prefer the glossy look. And I just plain don't trust myself.

Thanks, I forgot when I did them. It was either last spring or the year before all the mods kind of become a blur after awhile.

Hmm, that's almost a little dark for me. Have you had any problems with visibility or cops?

Not at all, and I have been followed a few times and even gotten a thumbs up from some of them.
