That's how I want my house to be. As energy efficient as possible. That way I have more money for mods

My first Twins game of the year and it was utter hell. Tons of annoying people plus the lousy twins lost the game 1 to zip. They kept dropping *****, not throwing to first base, etc. Really don't feel like going back any time soon.

On the bright side, it's thundering and lightning!

SO glad I have my serious metal back bumper, I don't have to worry about it! That being said I still cringe when they get too close

I'm with ya on that! Unless they aren't dangerous in any way.

Reminds of when I got to work today. I drive up, get to the end of the drive and park, and as soon as my foot touches the ground gettin' outta the truck, I heard a gunshot about 10 feet away, scared the ever loving **** out of me! As it turns out that was my boss, on the side of the barn, finishing off 2 cotton mouths with a Beretta 9mm. The smallest one (would have been the 3rd) got away. That makes 5 we've had out there this spring, 4 since last wednesday. Those things are scary, even with 2 rounds in them they still live for quite some time

One positive of living up here. No poisonous snakes!

Got up to 76 today, was getting pretty humid, then stupid cold front moves through and now it's 56.

It does that here every once in a while. Once last year it wasn't just muddy water, it was literally little ***** of mud all over every thing. I guess dust gets drafted up into high clouds and storms then finally rains out. No idea really, but its pretty crazy to see.

I really hate poisonous ones. Because they really blend in around here too, if you're not on top of them, you can't see em in the grass, or they look like a stick

Seriously, how do you people avoid getting bit? There'd be no way I could even go outside.

I'm not worried if you see them, but more often than not, you dont see them until you're right up on them. I'm always worried about stepping on one in the grass

They are just as afraid of you as you are of them Nathan. They aren't looking to bite you. You just learn where to be careful. Also certain times of year are worse than others. Water moccasins are crazy mean and will chase you. Copperheads are very, very hard to see. And rattlesnakes will warn you.

9 times out of 10 when somebody around here says they saw a poisonous snake they are usually wrong. Usually it's a king snake that they think is a coral snake or a chicken or rat snake that they think is a water moccasin.

I picked up a 4' rat snake by the tail once and just missed getting bit by about an inch. He was extremely pissed. Theyre mouths are like a chess pool. Full of bacteria that could give a nasty infection.

Same way here. I just nod and listen to the story, although it does bother me that people kill every snake they see. They're good to have around, they keep the rodent and insect population down, and a King snake will kill a rattle snake. I've got some pics somewhere I took of one eating a big timber rattler it had killed.

Anybody else watching Human Planet? Simply amazing stuff.

Edit: found the pics...

I had one ready to strike when I went by on the four wheeler after hb ran it over in front of me. I didn't know I could lift my leg that high. Not a fan of snakes, at all!
