In an oral message for 2-3 minutes, talks about two of these problems. Mention the causes and effects of these problems, and offers (offer) some possible solutions to eliminate these problems in the future.
Listen and respond to the message from another student. In a message of at least 1 minute, describe your reaction to these problems. Are there other causes and effects of these problems? Do you have other solutions to address these problems? How will life be like in ten years if we do not solve these problems?

The were showing these pictures in class today that involved the effects of global warming that we were supposed to describe, and one of them was of penguins in an igloo made of sand on a tropical island. Ummm....

"Although all penguin species are native to the southern hemisphere, they are not found only in cold climates, such as Antarctica. In fact, only a few species of penguin live so far south. Several species are found in the temperate zone, and one species, the Galápagos Penguin, lives near the equator."

As usual, Facebook's outage led thousands of social networkers to Twitter to, well ... talk about Facebook.
"Somebody needs to fix Facebook ASAP," wrote Gizmodo blogger Rosa Golijan on her Twitter feed. "I don't like having to tweet to show that I 'like' all the stories about it being down."
Several sarcastic Twitter users bemoaned the fate of the undernourished virtual plants and animals of FarmVille, while others (presumably with a degree of self-awareness) remarked on the ramifications of the outage.

I'd like to see facebook and twitter shut down for a full 7 day week just to watch people freak out and the hysteria that would unfold. Maybe it would wake more of the nation up to just how freaking far we have fallen as a society, and where our ingenuity and productivity have gone.
