If there were no Mustang, what would you drive?

jgsmuzzy Jul 5, 2004 08:46 AM

Subaru WRX for two reasons,

1 ) the sheer lunacy of the vehicle

2) It is one of only 6 in your list we can get here

(wouldn't fancy the 3000 mile service interval though! :crying: )

350z toss a s.c. on it for 350 plus wider front tires vert of course :tomcat:

If the mustang didn't exist, I definitely think I would have gotten the RX-8.. I was surprised as to how well it handled. It brought me back to the days I had my RX-7. Just not as fast..

Infinity G35, best bang for the buck with some quality and class. Trust me, the Infinity dealer is alot nicer to deal with then the Nissan or Subaru dealer. :-D

Evil_Capri Jul 5, 2004 09:22 AM

Lightning (Some other Ford vehicle.)

x-wing Jul 5, 2004 09:31 AM

I would choose the Porsche Boxster.

Galaxie Jul 5, 2004 09:44 AM

Dodge Magnum/upcoming Dodge Charger

RWD V8, IRS, and built in my hometown... apparently the R/T versions get 6-speed gearboxes as well.

MustangMan311 Jul 5, 2004 10:21 AM

I'd take a black 2004 350z vert. One passed me a few days ago and it had everything I like in a car. Style, speed, and syphistication.

Definitely quality and class...I went to the New York intrenational auto show and I got the liberty of sitting in a G35 Coupe.....if quality was a class G35 would pass it...

Chrysler 300... such a sweet car.

6t7 stang Jul 5, 2004 11:44 AM

Some other ford vehicle, the Thunderbird, but I think that they're a little bit too expensive.

Gattguy47 Jul 5, 2004 12:37 PM

If Ford didn't have the Mustang. 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator

ManEHawke Jul 5, 2004 01:02 PM

It's funny no F-Bodies are on the list. Was that intentional.
I'd get the 300C hands down if it was supposed to be modern. Or I'd be a 100% truck guy. If we talk Muscle and classic I'd probably live.
It just wouldnt be the same without the mustang.

Lalo Jul 5, 2004 02:37 PM

350z
i started to warm up to it a little after i got some stuff on it through the mail. the maxima is another good quality car. their engine has been named one of the "top ten engines of the year" 9 times straight or something (the award has only existed for 9 years)

Lord Chabelo Jul 5, 2004 02:39 PM

Good question. I would say a 350Z roadster B) Nismo style!

Since these forums are weighted so heavily towards those interested in the 2005 Mustang, I didn't include any vehicles that have fallen prey to those higher on the food chain.

I love how with all the anti-rice and anti-import people here, the 350Z is winning at this point. <3 Nissan.

Redbaron93 Jul 5, 2004 05:40 PM

Deb likes the Boxster, I like the TL. The Boxster wins out 'cause she likes a convertible. Given the fact that money is no object. give me a '69-'70 Cougar Eliminator with the Boss 302 or a '69 Z/28/RS with the dual 4bbl and rear disc options.

KungFuDan Jul 5, 2004 05:52 PM

If I had the money and couldn't buy a mustang I'd have to go with a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 with the LS6 engine. 450 hp baby!!
