I got a ticket.
Not sure how old you are, but you were "downshifting to avoid an incident with an apparently irradic driver". If you were trying to avoid conflict with the Cobalt and downshifted, your engine would rev and your vehicle would slow. No fault in avoiding racing.

my lawyer went to court tuesday the 24th. The DA would not drop down the charge and said it would be 8 points and $500. We go to court again 6-7-12.
I have been reading up and this law has been causing problems for years now

<I revved but did not in anyway increase speed. >
If he doesn't have you on radar or pace, what the heck can the violation actually be for, breaking decibels on the freeway??
What a jackwhad. Shouldn't he be busy watching for coyotes and other criminals??
Write Brewer how he's wasting taxpayer funds and picking on an employed, taxpaying, natural born citizen.

And I also learned the hard way, its never about true justice for the client - regardless of the sales presentation at the beginning. In the end its always about a compromise - the 'best deal'. Spineless bastards.
But paying the shyte shark and avoiding suspension, higher ins rates, etc. is the only option.

Flag, one question to ask is "When was the police vehicles speed odometer last calibrated". To pace a vehicle, and calculate speed is always risky for the LEO. There's just to many variables. Estimating distance moving at speed it is hard to determine if your distance is constant between vehicles. Any speed calulating equipment should be calibrated at regular intervals. Good luck.

Like I said in start of the thread I was being stupid and revved it for a second. I am guilty of speeding since I was over the limit(less the 65 in a 55). I do own some fault in this of course.
The Sheriff wrote pace/visual on the ticket. The street has lamps every half mile or so and it was 23:50 PM.

when you go to court, can you please tell that cop he is an ******* and makes the rest of us cops look bad. he is a perfect example of lazy cops incompetent of handling much more important/difficult cases so he chases simple stuff like yours.
