How screwed would you be...
If American Muscle offered a credit card and financing!? I'd be up to my eyeballs in debt. It'd be absolutely terrible. Anyone else feel they'd be in the same boat :P?

You don't have a credit card?

I have 3 credit cards. I'm just thinking if American Muscle offered one with 0% financing on purchases over a certain amount or rewards, it'd be pretty popular |

We do offer "Bill Me Later", which is pretty similar to what you described. Check it out on our site! Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance! -Dan |

How does that work? I've always wondered. Sure I can go check but I haven't thus far and probably won't. I've never checked out that option in any site, is it flat out pay for it later with no catch ?
Credit is not a bad thing. Being irresponsible with your credit is the bad thing. |
Wouldn't hurt me a bit. I use credit; I don't let it use me.

It's a line of credit. Think of it like a PayPal credit card. They often have financing promotions like 6/12 months with no interest. But if you don't pay it off by the end of that time period, then the interest (usually not a very good rate regardless of your credit score) for the whole 6/12 months is added to your remaining balance for you to pay off as well.

You forgot to add that these 0% interest offers are only good on one purchase above 500 bucks.

If it weren't for my good credit I wouldn't have been able to spend $14k on a new air conditioning system for my house last night. Old one finally failed and we're supposed to be in the 80s starting next week. |

80s outside is a whole different matter. That's just normal April weather where I live. 7th generation Native Texan.

It's also a very big job. The unit the house builders put in was too small. It was a 4 ton system when the house really needs a 5 ton. So, it's not just replacing the compressor, I'm switching to a 5 ton which means everything goes. All new compressor, furnace, heat exchanger, blower unit, thermostat, and all new ducting. Also having a new return duct added to the system to increase airflow and the drainage reworked. Also I am buying an 18 seer AC unit not the 13 seer which is the minimum that can be installed, and it comes with a dehumidifier which will continue to remove humidity even after the AC shuts down. It comes with a 16 year parts and labor warranty so I won't have to worry about replacing it again anytime soon. Jumping up from the 13 to the 18 seer added another $4k to the price, but when you get months with 110+ temperatures that added energy efficiency will pay itself off quick. Our ROI for the jump to 18 seer should be about 5 years, and by the time the warranty runs out we should have saved enough money to pay for the entire system. |
