Help ! Certificate of conformity
Firstly , I'd like to state that I don't know anything about Mustangs ! .. but I love them . I currently own a 1972 Rover P6 V8 3500S . Worth about £12,000 ... but my wife hates it .
I've started looking at modern Mustangs ,.. and would probably be in a position to sell the rover and buy this
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...ilable/8768674 .....I'm viewing it next month when I come to the UK from France where I live .
However a couple of people in my car club Have told me that it is almost impossible to re-register a modern US car in France .. as you can't get a certificate od conformity .
This car came into the UK in 2015 apparently .
Anyone got any advice ? I've read the former thread about taking cars to Germany , Netherlands etc .. but I'm afraid I'm no wiser .... There is a garage here in France that deals with a lot of Mustangs . They might be able to advise me ....

I've joined this group hoping to get some accurate advice . Any thoughts ?

I don't think there will be many here that can assist you, so getting all the info you need before buying a Mustang is ultra important as you already seem to know. Asking fellow European owners or that shop you mentioned sounds like the way to go. I can't believe the hoops you have to jump through to own a Mustang. I feel for you.
To any fellow Americans here that think Europe is the standard to live by, just read this poor guy's post. You might think twice. The governments control every aspect of your life. Want to own a Mustang? How about a Corvette? or Challenger? The government bureaucrats will let you know, maybe...

Thanks for your advice and info .. I must admit , after I posted my message I realised the forum is U.S based ! ( of course ,... it would be !)
After lots of advice from various people I have decided to forget the idea of buying a car in the UK and bringing it over to France .
With a bit more investigation I have found that there are a lot more Mustangs in France than I thought ......and of course the car will be on French plates and have French
paperwork .
Thanks again . If I ever get one .. I'll come back on here with more Q's . Au Revoir !
