For years, George Trosley's wonderful illustrations have spiced up the fabulous pages of MM&FF, and now you can too own a portrait of your car, done by the master himself.

All you have to do is send him some color photos and details about your car - or what you want your car to look like_ along with a check or money order for $199 (credit cards excepted on the web sight), and you'll get an 11x14 personalized abd signed color painting.

That's amazing, Rene! And well worth it, I'm sure. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I love original art and I'm in awe of talented artists, whether they're visual or performing. Thanks for the info! :nice:

I used to read Car Toons magazine as a kid. (It was a illustrated car/comic magazine that they had until the early 1990's. It was a cross between Mad Magazine and Hot Rod. Those of you that are too young or didnt have it in your area really missed something.

My favorite part was Krass and Bernie which was drawn by Mr Trosley.

Ahh the good old days.

I was one of those that missed it :(

I think i need one of your advertised plutonic hugs, Jay

OMG me too; I had a subscription to Car Toons all through the late eighties and nineties until they, sadly, went under. It was a great mag. I wonder where all my old copies went?

Krass and Bernie was my favorite part of the mag too. Trosley's cars always looked the most realistic, they almost popped right off the page.

i do realistic versions....for waaaaaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaaaay less...maybe 30-50 bux

Rene, thanks for the link. That guy does good work. Once I get all my exterior mods complete, I'll definitely look into getting a drawing done of my car.

Check out this comic strip . You can find more on the web site mentioned above.

Zc527 3/28/05 12:17 PM

i'm not really into the toon stuff, I am more realist....I must say, this guy is amazing...does great work......not tryin to brag or boast, but for a 13 year old like me, you gotta say mine is pretty good

Some of the older people in here may also enjoy his non car related cartoons in Hustler magazine.

He has also done stuff for Saturday Evening Post , Saturday Review , National Enquirer , and New Woman. His style is very easy to recognize once you know it. I bet most people have read at least one of his toons without even knowing.

Zach,

For any age, your drawing is good. Work with other medias such as water color, charcoal, ink, etc........you will do great.
