Here's a Dodge owner's YouTube video which also confirms Ford CEO/Jim Farley statement that the V8 Mustang is here to stay indefinitely!

Saw a Dark Horse with 14 miles sell for $72k on Barrett Jackson.

Geez, that's a bit depressing to me. New V8 car prices are so high.
There is a well known Dodge dealer in Hickory NC selling his last Challenger and Charger Hemi editions for under invoice. Even though I have a 2020 I would love to add another. This takes me back to the early 70's when Mopar ended the first batch of Cuda's and Challengers. The opportunity is here again before gone forever. We will wish for these days again. As usual, who has the $$$. Some things never change.

I wish they would have mentioned the sticker price, I really have no idea on the dark horse other than a number someone put on here. I do remember thinking it was about as much as the base price on mine and being shocked.

That's one reason I decided to get the 22, figured it would be the last beast of a 500 that doesn't have some kind of electric power as well.

Problem I see with that is that nobody except older people with some financial resources can afford them anymore.

TBH, I wouldn't have bought a mustang that cost this much other than the fact it was likely the last of what we knew, wanted one more Shelby and be the last one I bought. There's no way in heck I'd give 60k or more for a Mustang GT. You can keep it.

I Was Watching Barrett Jackson Today & Could Not Believe Folks Paying 125K Plus For Old Bronco's. Ya They are Cool But Please!

I Think Ford Has Really Screwed Up The Price Point on The Cars! Too Much Tech! Offer a Stripper V8 Like The Old Muscle Car Days! I Miss The Options as Stand Alone. It Made For Some Unique Cars Back in the Day as Well!

I Would Like To See a Retro S-197 Basic Car Brought Back & Offered as a Heritage Model. Bring Back What Jump Started The Stangs Back in 04! I Can Dream!

50K For Me on my 07 Gt-500 Was The Limit For Me on a New Car Purchase For The Rest of My Life, Just Won't Do it Again and Besides I Personally Just Don't Dig The Big Brother Aspect of The Newer Rides. Different Folks These Days Maybe Used To The Higher Cost of Vehicles But a Lot of Us Old Time Regular Guys are Likely To Stick With What We Got!

I Have Put So Few Miles on My Shelby it's Still New To Me! I Gotta Start Driving it More Often. While My Knee's Still Work!

I agree. Quite a few on the Dodge forum, who dislike Fords quite a bit, admit they would buy a new Mustang GT over any 6 cylinder variant that Stellantis creates.

Once Stellantis/Mopar end up losing its V8 powered customers over to Ford, it will only be a matter of time before they finally come to their senses and bring back the Hemi powered V8 cars... Let's face it here, Stellantis and GM aren't going to tolerate with Ford being the only domestic automaker to produce V8 powered vehicles for very long, once they realize how much they are going to lose in sales by their long-term Hemi V8 powered Challenger and Charger customers jumping ship over to Ford... The end result would turn into way too much of an embarrassment to overcome in the long run IMHO!

Head of Ford branding (I think) was at Barrett Jackson, said the V8 Mustang wasn't going anywhere. Sold Dark Horse vin number 1 for charity. $250k.

They said the dark horse package was to attract young buyers with a different brand than "old people" have, Boss, Mach, etc.

How many young people do they think can afford a $70k Mustang? They can't even pay their student loans.

Most can and just decided not to so they can get their first BMW or Benz.
If they can't afford it they chose the wrong major.

I'd buy a new S650 (2024--?). Mustang with a better performance than what I have.

I saw the new Ford Mustang GT4 finish 8th in their first series at Dayona last Friday. It looked great.

As always, Ford uses things learned on the race track to build better Mustangs. I hope they make as many as ordered. It's the new Mustang GT4.
