"Puurty car" was heard yesterday at a local shop. It's rarely from a hot chick but I looked up anyway and saw it came from a guy that looked closer to this. ****....

Deliverance was filmed in Rabun County GA just south of us. That young man in the photo playing the banjo (Billy Redden) worked at the local supermarket in Clayton GA for awhile and I think at the Walmart too (about 30 minutes away). No idea where he is now.
The 'toothless man' (Herbert Coward) just passed away last year https://smokymountainnews.com/archiv...illed-in-wreck and lived in Maggie Valley NC which is 40 minutes in the other direction from us. Burt Reynolds suggested him for the part when they worked together at the Ghost Town in the the Sky in Maggie Valley. It was an amusement type park with old western shootouts, etc.. They tried opening it again in the not too distant past but it's going to take a 'big $$$' investor to ever make it work. It still sits closed up there.
There is a lot of history here from that flick even 53 years later. We have learned a lot of it since we used to visit here since the late 70's before we finally moved here in 2002. Many shops still have the T-shirts, "If you hear banjo music, paddle faster."
