c4-c6 converter question.

Hi guys how I have a 89- 5.0 fox with a c4 , I have also a 10 inch converter that lines up against flexplate holes , bin told it was for a c4 but it requires a thicker in put shaft thsn the shaft thats in my c4 , any way of confirming if its for a c6 without any part number or company name.

it`s been a while since iv`e seen either but i`ll give it a try .. the C4 will of course have a much smaller input shaft ,, about 3/4 inch dia. i think .. the C6 shaft will be about 1 full inch .. if you have a C6 convertor that fits a C4 trans it should be two different sizes..smaller on the end that fits the trans pump than the convertor ..i dont see the need in such a convertor ...

I agree I just found on ebay a sleave adaptor that allows you to install a c6 converter on to a c4 tranny for about 60 bucks , its cheaper to pay 60 instead of 300-400 bucks for another converter. And I just need to find a way of finding out if it is for a c6 since I dont have a c6 input shaft that I ca n put in to it to confirm it is a c6 converter that I have.

the pump hub diameter is just under two inches .. it may be the same for a C4 and a C6 .. the C6 input shaft is just over one inch .. i`m quite sure a C4 shaft is much smaller ..... now that i dwell on it i remember putting a C4 stall convertor behind a 429 C6 trans once .. i had a custom shaft made ... it did`nt last one pass ...
