Yeah, thats what I was thinking.........not to high and not too low. I don't think that rpm is high enough to cause damage. Plus if you have water on the tires it definitely it wont take that much to get them spinning.
I'm not for sure but it couldn't be any worse than dropping it at 2500rpm on any other occasion and 2500 seems well within the limits of safety with the new 5.0

I guess the other question that needs to be asked is - how lucky are you? I had the car out a couple of weeks ago when the temps were in the high 20's, meaning grip was pretty scarce. I was coming around a left corner off a stop light at very low throttle when the back end kicked out just a scant bit before I backed off the gas. Moments later I see a plain jane Suburban approching with lights in the window - the county sheriff in his personal vehicle. We had a chat about that after he ran my license (he let me off) and he reminded me that is called 'exhibition of acceleration': 12 points (all of them, loss of license) and fine to be determined.

Luck? Not in my domain. It's your car, your tires and your life, so do with it as you please.

Its a shame he didn't have a gas leak, that would be one more idiot out of the gene pool....I hope that idiot has not and never does reproduce...

Yeah I definitely wouldn't do that to my car. I'm shocked he didn't have something break.

They said they payed 300 bucks for it as the end to judging by the road around them a good burnout contest. Im pretty sure they meant this to happen and weren't worried about breaking anything but were trying to break something

I don't care if the payout is $1000....I'm not spinning my wheels and creating molten metal that close to my gas tank...

I didn't say they weren't stupid. Just stating that they planned this. There could be ambulances and fire control out if site..doubt it....probably a Guy with a beer and a hose lol but I gotta give them the benefit if a doubt
