Brembo Brakes
 

I bought a 2019 Bullitt in April and it has brembo brakes on the front. The brake dust is horrible, you drive 50 miles and you need to clean the wheels. I know the make dustless brake pads. I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience changing over to these pads. I do not race the car and I wondering how much is lost in braking if you go to dustless pads. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what brands to get.

I am not sure what pads they are putting on the new Brembo cars, but my 2011 with factory Brembo's used a pad made by Ferodo. The dust was horrible. I had less dusting with Hawk HPS pads, but they still generated some dust and it is corrosive and damages the finish on wheels if you do not clean as often as you should. I would try one of the ceramic based pads. I am using G Loc pads now with good luck, but I am using their race compounds for the track. They make a street compound that produces far less dust and the dust is non corrosive. If you are not tracking the car you should not have problems with stopping.

Street pads generally are not. The race compounds are designed to operate at higher temperature ranges. They can squeal a bit under light braking, but they hold up under hard braking much better at the track.

yep, you want street pads -- if I were you, I'd check on Tire Rack or any other large on-line retailer to see what is available, and they provide information about whether they are noisy, dusty, etc.

pretty much any street pad should work fine performance-wise, those Brembo brakes are more than adequate for street use, much bigger than what we got with the S197 cars
