AWD mustang?
Well I was playing forza and there was a option to swap the drivetrain to AWD. I wonder how this would be in real life if it could be done; how good would it really be?

Fast and furious style, swap an rb26 plus the AWD hardware from a skyline. Haha.
To be honest there's no good way to do this in real life. I mean, with fat enough pockets anything is possible, but for the most part, if you want AWD buy a WRX or an evo or something.

I would hope the 'real' production car is never an AWD car! No offense to AWD I just think an AWD Mustang would be heresy! IMHO, but I bet an AWD Mustang game would rock!!

Honestly in the game AWD makes it sooooooo much better to drive. If it came with AWD I bet it would finally be able to beat the GTR, it would also need launch control.

Heresy or not, if it *sold*, they'd make 'em.
That being said, I can pretty safely say it'll never happen. A Probe type replacement is more likely, and y'all remember how that worked out, right?

While I agree with you than *in forza* AWD does make a significant improvement in a lot of cars.
But do you really, honestly want an AWD mustang in real life? It would be heavy, like 4000 pounds probably with all the extra drivetrain parts. And all that extra weight would be on the nose of an already nose heavy car. Can you say understeer like a pig? Plus AWD systems are comparatively fragile. Go to a Subaru forum and see how many people are talking about blown up diffs and trannys and axles and clutches.
Plus what could is a mustang without smoky burnouts and power oversteer? Haha
