Aux button radio [Mustang 2005 V6 Base]
Hello,
I own a "Mustang 2005 V6 Base". On my radio there is an AUX button but this button doesn't work. I think I have a Shaker 500/1000 (Picture radio: https://postimg.cc/GTmYskkL). How can the AUX button work? Is this a possible solution? Or any better solution? Best regards, Jos |
I didn't know anybody made a unit that plugs into the radio wire plug.
I've been using a cheap bluetooth unit that plugs into the lighter/power outlet. You set your radio to the same station that the bluetooth unit is set on.Then it gets bluetooth signal from your phone and sends it to your radio |
Yeah, in our cars the 'Aux' is just there, doesn't do anything. There's supposed to be a way to make it work, but...eh, easier to get a new head unit, or the bluetooth/transmitter thing.

I just finished going through the owners manual again and I can't find any indication of how you're supposed to hook something up to use the aux.All it says about it is that if you push the aux button w/o something hooked up to use it,the display will say "no aux source",or something like that
Maybe the unit you linked to is how it's meant to be used:dunno: |
The AUX button on my '07 works with the satellite radio. It gives you new pre-set options and new channels. Several levels. I've used it since day 1.

Thanks, I use these thing for a couple of months but the sound is not the same like it is with for example the CD-player. But I ordered the AUX thing from Amazon and in the next weeks I will check it out if I can connect that to my radio. I will let you know. Thanks for reply.

My 08 V6 is the same way but if you plug something into the aux port it works, just as yours not the same quality.

The port is in the glove box???This I gotta see
I just locked up the garage, and it just started raining hard,so I'll check it out tomorrow |
No no no I am sorry, I meant the center console/arm rest. My bad there should be a power outlet and a aux port.

I just came across an ancient post on another forum that mentioned it being in the glove box.I'm gonna take a good look in there with a flashlight |
Still no sign of a port anywhere:banghead:
|
Right after my last post I googled for the location, and found out they didn't put the port in until the 07 or 08 models.Until then, the aux button did nothing unless your car had optional satellite radio:bad:

That clears it up, my 07 gt has a aftermarket radio with bluetooth so I never looked anywhere for a aux. My p8 has it in the center console. Didnt even think that they never put one in yours. Sorry you have a dead aux button.
