It still amazes me that they were only managing 200-ish horsepower out of a 5 liter V8 for a good long while...

Performance was so bad back in those days they had to quote 0-55

That or they didn't want the Safety Lobby jamming them up for encouraging deviant behavior. Remember 85mph speedometers?
