2018 Mustang GT
Happened in Richmond, VA when a big truck didn't see me and changed lanes into the side of me. Around $8,000 damage. He got a ticket and his ins has to pay, but what about diminished value? How does that work and does anyone have an idea how much it should be now that my car will have a Carfax report?

There are lawyers that specialize in auto stuff like this. My friend used one when his car got wrecked. After the car was all repaired is when he got the lawyer. he received a check for another 3 k I believe. Once they start replacing panels is when you want to get something for diminished value.

OK, thanks. It's going to need a quarter and bumper cover. Suspension components are bent too.

Ugh!! That would end the car ownership for me right there. You may find someone that can actually 100% fix it but it's not easy. Getting it 100% as the factory had it?? Tough!! That would bother me to no end on any car I own, never mind a new Mustang. Yes, diminished value is high. Get the most you can. You will still end up on the short end. No way of getting around it. I've seen it far too often. I'm sorry to hear about it. Is that your dog in the photo? I hope he bit the truck driver. :heh:
