Site Layout
Guys and gals...
One thing that members have asked us is to look at the layout of the site and see if we can better organize the forums. Nathan and I have spent a good amount of time discussing this and think we have a good idea of what we would like to do, but wanted to post it up for feedback.
Basically, what we think we should do is move some of the more active forums near the top, and place some of the more administrative forums lower on the page. I think if we move up sections like the General Mustang Chat and Introductions, it will encourage members to post a little more and people will realize that the site is more active than it may appear currently. Really we are not changing the forums too much, just organizing them a little better. (btw...subforums will stay the same as they are now, except for the Off-Topic section where we fold some of the current forums into sub-forums)
Here is our layout plan:
Ford Mustang Discussion
• General Mustang Chat
• Introductions
• Member Mustang of the Month
• Vendor Showcase
Mustang by Model Year
• 20?? – Next Generation
• 2010+ Mustang
• 2005 – 2009 Mustang
• SN95 Mustang
• Fox Mustangs
• 1st and 2nd Generation
Mustang Community
• Team Mustang Source
• Mustang Motorsports
• Mustang of the Day
• Auto Shows and Events (used to be Auto-Focus)
• The Marketplace
• Regional Chat
• Car Care
General Chat
• Automotive Art
• Ford Motorsports
• General Vehicle Discussion
• Which is Better
• Other Fords
• Off-Topic
o General Art (sub-forum of Off-Topic)
o Sports (sub-forum of Off-Topic)

Eh, I think I prefer it as it was. Mostly just due to the announcements/etc. being at the top. But either way...really not a big deal either way, as long as they're all there. I almost flipped sh*t when I couldn't find a category that I was looking for and thought it was deleted...

I will buy Jack Stands!!!
I like this new one. But!
Should be on the top, because that's big news to do with the site. So I think the best way to go here, while keeping with your "More Active On Top" mind set (which I totally agree with, ) would be like this, IMHO.
Anybody with me?

It was fine the way it was. Stop trying to fix everything that doesn't need fixing. I think people were complaining more about the sub-forums in the 2010 section. At least that's all I ever saw. I hate change.

"Eugh!?" What do you mean, "Eugh?!"
I don't like change!
Oh, that's all right, I'll have your change. I love it. I'm going to have change, change, change, change, change, change, change, change, egg and change!
/change change change change...
//ok, so I'm reachin' out with my weird Monty Python humor.
///As long as it's all there, I'm good. I usually go 'new posts' anyway, unless something specific is needed.
////A little organization every so often is usually good.

Yeah, I do New Posts too. The reason I do it is because the forum is so highly segmented. GT/CS people posting performance mod questions in the GT/CS section for example. Those questions could be answered and benefit all GT owners. Want to reorganize? How about less segments since we're all Mustang enthusiasts. This is a community forum, not an encyclopedia.

New posts is the only way to go. That way you don't miss anything.
So essentially the change is fine with me. A little organization never hurt anyone. Things have changed with the 2010 and 5.0. This isn't your grandfathers s197 site anymore.

Oh, I forgot to mention I also like the new member section going at the top. I always did think the introduction section was a little dead. That may explain why some people(I did it) introduce themselves in other places, which are the wrong places.

Ok I know I haventy been on here for a couple weeks but when I logged on for the first time and I was like WTF happened to the site? Honestly I think it was better the way it was and not the way it is. I get too confused on where stuff is now on here.
Also since you moved the Off Topic section does it make it where it will now count your post or does it still not count the post that you make??

instead of 1st and 2nd Generation I would lablel it like this.
Classic 1964-1973
Mustang II 1974-1978
Also start with oldest at the top and newest at the bottom.
