I knew nothing about the background of the movie before watching it on speed today, and my 1st thought was that that was the worst acting I'd ever seen.
But when I found out how the movie was made by a guy with a vision and no money and how he got it into the theaters with hollywood trying to shut him out, I was impressed by his tenacity and ingenuity.

I then thought it was a pretty good movie considering that the guy had never made a movie before.

No question. It still amazes me how he pulled off the logistics of that whole shoot.

Anybody else find the front end of those '73 Stangs totally sexy? Body colored bumpers ahead of their time, too.

I rented it the other night and I was really dissapointed, horrible acting, there were good parts to the car chase, but for the most part it was very boring. I could be saying this though because I bought bullit a week before.

I bought it on DVD a while back. I also like the fact that some of the in-car was done just by driving on the highways with a camera. No real crew, no community rental fees. Good acting??? That was no where near the goal for this movie.

The acting in Bullitt wasn't exactly spectacular either

I love this movie. The chase, in my mind, is one of the most epic ever filmed. Right up there with the Bullitt chase, and Blues Brothers

I have original Gone in 60 Sec on DVD and its a great movie. Junkman (same actors) is just as good.

Its not really about anything other than Eleanor. Thats what makes it a must see.
I really hate Nicolas Cage so I have to prefer the original. Plus when you think about the budget and they way they filmed it I would like to see someone better it today!
'Bullitt' has quite bad acting as well, but its the whole feel of the film that sets it apart. Its part of the reason the Mustang survived, as was Gone in 60 seconds. Both films deserve a lot of respect.

It's not bad...it's "minimalist."

Allow me The car chase in Bullitt is very cool and the re-make of Gone in 60 Seconds is the best of the 3 movies in my opinion.

Oh man! We've got to get you to see this movie. In my opinion, its the movie that blew the Mustang legend through the roof, and lauched Steve McQueen's career into overdrive. McQueen's a bad***

This is in reverse!

Ok, I watched some of it on (crappy quality) youtube. I know that doesn't really count, but the chase scene was AWESOME! I'll have to see it some day....

Never saw the original, but I liked the remake was one of the better car chaes out there IMO. Bullit on the otherhand I did see more than once and that car chase IMO is top notch, one of the best I've ever seen.

Everyone shuld see Bullit atleast once, here let me help with that
