Sweet forum app!! Little help with some back firing in the upper intake

New here I have a 89 5.0 H.O all pretty well redone. Just finishing up the motor with a complete block tear down and now with the new cam and new upper and lower intake I'm getting a lot of backfire in the upper intake any one deal with this before?

Firing order or timing issue.

Thanks a lot. Will get some pics up soon.

with a aftermarket cam, might verify firing order is same as before too- IIRC the windsors had two different firing orders available depending on the cam.
if not a firing order issue, run a quick compression test to look for a open valve- maybe lash on a intake was set too tight.

Checked with crane on the cam also checked compression all numbers were 170, 180. These are awesome suggestions keep em rolling I appreciate all of them.

well since you checked the obvious ( tight rockers, timing, firing order) you could have faulty o2 sensors causing a lean condition. also since you just did a motor on this go over all your wires, connections and vacuum hoses and make sure they are all connected, very easy to miss one when doing a big job and having a sensor disconnected can cause problems also.

Finally got a profile pic up anyways. Thanks for the advice will try it and get back to you.
