I bought my 68 Fasback in 1971 after a two year stint in the Army. 'Drove it 210,000 miles and parked it in a barn for 28 years. Now that I'm retired, I'm beginning a long overdue rebuild and paint job.

I bought a Termec T5 and have all of the parts to convert the clutch to cable linkage. When I get to the engine, I want to use low compression pistons so that it will run on regular gasoline. Any suggestions about which pistons?

Welcome aboard! I have no doubt how much you must be looking forward in rebuilding your "68" fastback after being parked inside a barn for 28 years lol, Perhaps you could post some images, as I'm sure we all would be very interested in seeing your "68" fastback on here as well. Meanwhile, thanks for your service in the Army from one vet to another and also congrats on your retirement :nice:

Thanks for the note. April 2021 marks the 50th year that I have owned this car. Here is a recent picture before I started restoration. I plan to rebuild engine first then the interior, paint, later, the suspension. It's a 302 w/ 4 speed.

Very nice. Does not look too much different than the '67 I got back in '76. Love those cars! Don't still have mine though, but wish I did. Only had mine for about 3 years, My new bride talked me into selling to buy a more practical fuel economy car (VW Rabbit of all things).
