I am a new member. I recently purchased a 2013 Boss 302. It is stock, performance white, and full of surprises. I have owned three (3) Shelby GT 500's.
Two 2007's and one 2010. All had some level of upgrades with my favorite 07 with a JLT package, CA induction, smaller pulley, and JLT tune....a screamer for sure....but this Boss is a whole different beast. Not as fast in a straight line but oh boy does she stoke my fire in the way she rides and handles on a windy road. The red key was never programed. I have an appointment tomorrow at the ford dealer to have it installed. At this stage, with regard to the Boss, I don't know what I don't know as I am still in the discovery process with the Boss. But I am having a lot of fun.

that Boss deserves to get out on a road track sometime, where it can really stretch its legs!

Welcome aboard... Perhaps you might also consider posting some pics of your 2013 Boss 302, as I'm sure we would be most interested in seeing some pics of your Boss...
In the meantime, congrats

Thank you for the welcome messages.
HELP. Today the local ford dealer told me that ford no longer offers programing support for the Red Key. Since I am a new/recent owner I thought I would reach out to those of you with more knowledge and experience with the 2013 Boss. Was I given correct information from my local ford dealer? Please advise. Thank you.

Send Me Your Vin & I Will Do Some Poking & Prodding If You Like!

I Would Be Caliing Around To Other Dealers in Your Area as Well! A Call To Ford Racing Would Not Hurt Either!

Good advice KC. I am going to call ford racing Monday.
I did find a new Procal 2 (supposedly) for sale. I'll know more after I talk to FR.
And I'll check with other ford dealers too.
Thanks again.

I do not have a Boss, but I do have the Boss red key (TracKey) equivalent for the 2014 1/2 GT. You might reach out to Ford Performance, I believe they are the ones that created the tune and may still have it available for the Boss.

This is not an answer you are probably looking for. I am not sure f you can still get it or not, but I do know they still sell a version for the GT. It no longer has the dual key setup as the Boss and mine do, but I would give them a call and find out your options…

Boss 302 red key update.
Talked to a tech at Ford Racing/Performance this morning. He was very informative and knowledgeable.
It appears ford discontinued all support for the 'red key' within the last year or two so even with the Procal II ford offers zero support with programming data.
So, I have a call in to a local tuner 'Wongs Performance Engineering" in Vancouver, Washington to see what he says.
Again, thank you guys for your willingness to help 'eddycate' this old man from the hills in Estacada Oregon.

Sorry to hear that they no longer support this…. Since Ford had the ECU locked down and are the only ones who are able to access the dual key tune feature you will likely be locked into what ever tune you add, without reloading a different one. Maybe they have released info on the dual key magic. Hopefully.

Good luck and hope things workout for our.

Still waiting for a call back from Wong's Performance Engineering to see if Tom has any options....
I'll let you all know what transpires from that call.
Thanks again for all the help and support.

UPDATE. I heard back from Tom at Wong's Performance Engineering with regard to the Red Key. In a nutshell, he knew nothing about it. He referred me to Lund Racing. I contacted them and they do not offer any Red Key support.....However they do list a tune for the 2012/13 Boss 302. I don't think I will go that way though for the following reasons:
1) I am not going to take my boss to the track
2) I am not interested in going faster in a straight line...it has enough 'giddie up' for this old man
As I said in my 1st post, I have owned 3 GT500's one of which had a tune package, CA induction, smaller SC pulley, exhaust, lowering springs, BMR upper and lower control arms. It was a screamer. But I enjoy driving this Boss more than all three of the 500's. I live in a rural area with a basket full of windy country roads.....and the Boss has turned out to be a 'more than adequate Viagra substitute!
Although I am disappointed at my pre purchase ignorance about the red key, that's on me. I should have researched it more thoroughly. But at this stage of the game, 'it is what it is'.

Sorry to hear the Boss Red Key enhancement is now a relic of the past. Would have been a great addition to the Boss, but I am sure the Boss is still the best S197 built and a very desirable car even without it. Sounds like you are having a great time with the car. Congrats one fantastic car!
